It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Gentile on Saturday August 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family and friends at Hospice Vaughan at the age of 50. Beloved husband of Diana and devoted father of Alyssia and Gianluca. Loving son of Guiseppina and the late Angelo. Sadly missed by his mother in law Claire and the late Felice and brother in law Tony (Andrea). Dear brother of Miguel, Mario and Julia. He will be sadly missed by his aunts and uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He will be forever remembered by his friends for his big smile, his laughter and love for the Boston Bruins. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Vaughan would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to express their appreciation to the caring team at Hospice Vaughan.

In my heart is where I will keep you.
Tony,
I sure will miss our annual hockey banter. May you RIP, and as much As the pains me to say, Go Bruins Go 🙂
Sincere condolences to all of Tony’s family and friends.
Cheryl and I are saddened to learn of this loss of Tony. It was nice to stay in touch over Facebook through the years. Go Bruins!
I remember seeing that smile when I first started at the hotel. Tony was the most welcoming person you could know. He always spoke fondly of his family. His light will be missed by many.
It breaks my heart to hear of Tony’s passing. Although we didn’t keep in touch as much as I would have liked after high school, he always found a way to send a post or two about the Leafs or Bruins just to rub it in. I’ll never forget going downtown with him in ’94 for Game 7 when the Leafs beat the Sharks—we were running up and down Yonge Street celebrating. He always had a soft spot for the Leafs, and I’m glad he was able to see his Bruins win the Stanley Cup. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He was taken from us far too soon.
May Tony Rest In Peace, with the angels where he is supposed to be! God rest your soul; use your spirit to guide your family through this awful time!! Gone far too soon!
We went to school together… My heart hurts for your family. His wife and kids were his everything!
My condolences to you all… His smile and infectious personality will never be forgotten. Tony you will be truly missed ❤️
I fondly remember being colleagues at the Bristol Place and Tony’s smile was so welcoming for coworkers and guests. He spoke with great love for his family and I believe they were never very far from his thoughts. When the NHL season began, the banter between his beloved Bruins and my Habs was ongoing and made for great fun. Diana cherish your memories for comfort as they give you strength.
Rest in peace Tony!
In sympathy,
Christine Campbell-Perrott
All our condolences for this terrible loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
I was so saddened to hear about Tony. My condolences to you, his family and friends. I was a long-standing client at the Westin Bristol then Westin Toronto airport hotel, and he was always so welcoming and would bend over backwards to make my life a lot easier as a planner. Always came out to say hello with a big bear hug. Will miss him and the Toronto versus Boston jabs. r
My deepest condolences to Tony’s family on this devastating loss.
I met Tony in high school, and he was always kind and fun to be around. He always wore a smile. I’m happy to have kept in touch with him over the years online, and deeply saddened by his loss.
Rest in Peace, Tony.
There are some souls who walk this earth and leave it softer, kinder, and more beautiful simply because they were here. Tony was one of those rare souls.
He carried love as if it were second nature—always reaching out, always lifting others, always reminding us that we mattered. His kindness was not a passing gesture; it was who he was at his core. Steady, thoughtful, loyal, and larger than life, he had a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for.
Although since high school, our conversations sadly stemmed from social media, losing this friendship with him feels impossible, because how can a presence so full of light be gone from our sight? And yet, the truth is this: love does not end where life does. Tony’s love will live on in all of us—in the laughter he shared, in the comfort he gave, in the countless moments he turned ordinary days into something unforgettable.
We will carry him forward. In our stories, in our hearts, in the quiet moments when we still feel his presence near. He was, and always will be, one of God’s greatest angels—called home too soon, but leaving behind a legacy of love that cannot be measured.
Tony, thank you for the gift of your friendship, your compassion, your light. I will miss sharing stories of our Emery days (moments at “The Doors”), Galati at Bradstock with my brother, music, “Bruins and Soccer talk” and just all the ways you always magically knew when to send me a thoughtful message because you sensed that I was “going through it” and wanted to let me know that I wasn’t alone. I will miss all these moments and memories, forever. We will all love you, forever, never to be forgotten.
I had the privilege of working with Tony for a year at the Westin Toronto Airport, where he became my “Gatekeeper “ he screened everyone wanting time with the GM in the funniest of ways! He made me laugh daily. I will miss our hockey banter a lot the Maple Leafs vs Boston Bruins debates what more can I say.
A generous soul gone too soon. My sincere condolences to Diana and Alyssia and Gianluca and the entire family. My God bless you in this time of grief.
RIP Tony- you are much loved.
Diana, our hearts are with you during this very difficult time. Please accept our deepest condolences, we are keeping you and your family in our prayers, and sending you love and strength to get through the days ahead.
With love,
Natania, Analia and Amarie
To my cousin, I am so sorry to hear that you have passed. Although it’s been many years, I remember you as being a very naturally positive, optimistic and happy guy. You had a smile that could light up a room. When I think of you, all I see is your smile. You were always kind, funny, loving and a great family man. My condolences to Diana and your children. I pray that God will fill their hearts with peace, comfort and gratitude in having the time with you that they did. May you rest in eternal heaven.
Tony you will be missed by all of us. May you rest in peace. We will cherish all the memories we shared together. You are gone far too soon. You will always in hearts forever.
Diana, Alyssia, Gianluca,
Tony was so kind and genuine. I was always happy for a chance run-in at the grocery store, the pet store… He was always so eager to tell me about the kids – he was so proud of his beautiful children. Happy that we had the chance to get to know him over that summer of softball. Please know that we feel the depth of your loss. We are keeping you all close in our thoughts and prayers. So much love your way.
Hi Diana, my sincerest condolences to you and your children. You and I have never met but I knew Tony back in high school and remember him as a true stand out guy; hard to find nowadays. Also, the biggest Boston Bruins fan ever…I’m sure you’re well aware of that! If I can provide any solace during such a difficult time, I recommend reading “On Grief and Grieving” by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross. It provided me with great comfort when my mother passed away many years ago and continues to do so as I recently lost my elderly father to cancer; it’s such a horrible disease. There’s no denying that it’s going to be tough but you’ll get through it…take good care and rest in peace Tony.
May you rest in peace.
Our sincere condolences from all of us.
Carmela and family.
So sorry ,for your lost
