It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Mary Christie announce her passing on May 18, 2026, in Mississauga at the age of seventy-three, surrounded by her loving family.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia was born in Montreal, Quebec on March 14, 1953, the youngest of four children born to Thomas Christie and Rose Bailey.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia was a voracious reader and a dedicated student. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Honours English, degree from Concordia University and a Master in Health Administration degree from the University of Ottawa. Her career began at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal. She then moved to Toronto for an opportunity with the Ontario Government in health care administration.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia demonstrated great determination and resilience in meeting life’s challenges, and she took pride and comfort in her close family connections.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Marlene; brother-in-law, George; nieces, Catherine (and partner Darcy), and Carol; nephews, Chris, Tom, and Robert; and numerous other family members and friends.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Rose; and siblings, Ron and Diane.

elevated 3jz3j The family would like to thank the staff at Cawthra Gardens Long Term Care Residence for their commitment to Patricia and their philosophy of providing dignity in care for everyone. They would also like to thank the doctors and staff at both Mississauga Hospital and North York General Hospital for their outstanding care, and in particular, Dr. Stephen Gelber, for his compassion and dedication to Patricia’s well-being.

elevated 3jz3j Patricia was known for “calling it as she saw it” without hesitation, and for giving her candid and unfiltered opinion.

elevated 3jz3j Rest in peace, our dear Patricia. You were loved more than you ever knew.
