Tommie Chan Sun, 93, left this world peacefully on August 4th, 2026, surrounded by his family. A loving husband to Simone (nee Law), Tommie was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Together they raised their children Eugene (Donna), Gerald (and the late Cindy) and Karlene (Nigel) along with their grandchildren Sasha (James), Keegan, Marcus, Brenden, Victoria, Bryanna and great grand daughter Sophia. He cherished family gatherings during holidays and celebrations and was infamous for spoiling his grandchildren.
elevated HSKHR He was born on November 22nd, 1932, in Vietnam but moved to China at a very early age. He immigrated to Trinidad and Tobago as a young adult where he met his wife and where the children were born. With his strong work ethic and commitment, he worked his way up and became part owner of a very well-known successful business in downtown Port-of-Spain. After working hard for so many years, he wanted a better life for his family and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1985 in preparation for retirement.
elevated HSKHR Tommie had many passions in life, including basketball, stamps and coin collecting, cultivating cacti and orchids, travelling to many exotic places, and his favourite pastime……daily/weekly trips to the Casino. He led a very long full life and will be truly missed.
I remember uncle Tommy when he had his business on Charlotte St POS
Famous for the Ajinomoto Chinese Seasoning. Condolences to all of the family. We can all cherish the wonderful memories back in Trinidad and in Canada.

To my uncle Tommie, I have a great souvenir from you when you went to Tahiti in 1984 for vacation with your family.
I remember especially and discovered your hobby for stamps collection and your Kindness to send me a few (Trinidad and Tobago) as gift.
I still keep them at home since, and have always a great pleasure to look at them.
