elevated NtoUI It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Timothy Roy David De Souza, who passed away on July 31, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 92.
Born on July 28, 1934, in Georgetown, British Guiana, David was the son of Timothy Gregory De Souza and Carmelita (née De Freitas). He lived a life marked by faith, integrity, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to his family. A proud Certified General Accountant (CGA), he enjoyed a distinguished career in accounting, where he dedicated many years of service to the Canada Revenue Agency before retiring at the age of 80. Known for his meticulous attention to detail, unwavering integrity, and strong work ethic, David earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike throughout his career.
David and his beloved wife, Kay (née Da Silva), shared 69 years of a loving and devoted marriage, together building a family that was the greatest source of pride and joy in his life. He is survived by his sons, David Wayne (Myriam), Grant, and Blaine; his cherished grandchildren, Kayla (Brandon), Briana (Mitchell), Vanessa (Matthew), Jordan, and Jackson; and his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Milena, Gabriel, Emilia, Carmela, Simone, Sophina, and Tonino.
He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings Kay Francis, Winston (Anne), Carmelita (Desmond), Donna (Keith), and John (Marissa). He was predeceased by his siblings Compton and Jean, Theresa and Peter, Michael and Norma, Marie and Bernard, Lydia and Vibert, Malcolm (Patricia), Andrew (Debbie), and Alban (Margot), and by his stepfather, Ulric Alban. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
David will be remembered for his unwavering faith, quiet strength, integrity, and devotion to his family. His life was a testament to humility, perseverance, and selfless love. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

I’ve idolized my Uncle David my whole life. I was lucky enough to call him my godfather. He was so special. Every time I saw him or spoke with him, my heart skipped a beat with the joy he made me feel. I asked him to be my godfather again when I was confirmed at 25 and he was the Master of Ceremonies at my wedding. The world is not the same without him. I love you Uncle.
