Joe, Gina, and Laura,
When I learned of your mom’s passing, it brought me back to 1976 when we were neighbors in Thornhill. Bertina was an active young mom in her 20s and so cool. She played a mean game of tennis and was constantly driving you children to your many extracurricular activities, especially your music lessons, all while having Laura in tow. She would drive with the radio on full blast, and we would sing along to the latest hits of the ’70s. Oh, how I miss those days.
It was a privilege growing up with the Alfanos, and your family was an integral part of my childhood and teen years. I will never forget them. I am so sorry for Bertina’s passing, but she is now reunited with her beloved Carmen.
God bless,
Donna
Mario and family, please accept our deepest sympathies. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
