It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ada Covello announces her passing on August 25, 2026 in Mackenzie Health Hospital at the age of 81. She was born on February 3, 1945 in Borgo Partenope, Italy, to Rosina and Lorenzo. With 6 brothers and sisters and 4 children, Ada lived a life defined by devotion to her family and by the quiet, steady generosity she offered to everyone around her.
In 1963 she made her way to Canada to be with her fiancé Amerigo and unite in marriage, where they spent over 60 beautiful years together. During this time they raised four children through love, dedication, and cultural values.
Despite the challenges that came along with immigration, Ada persevered with the strength of her family by her side. She worked as a cashier at Weston Produce for over 20 years – a job she loved – and touched the lives of many customers who came and went. At home she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, filling the hearts of those who entered her house with warmth and the feeling of being cared for.
Ada leaves behind her children Antonio, Francesco (Marnie), Maria (George 2016), and John (Larissa); her three grandchildren Rachel, Cleo, and Thomas; and her siblings Rafaella (Mario 2021), Maria (Alfredo), Rafael (Franca), Amedeo (Anna) and Anna (Emmanuel). She is predeceased by her brother Gabriel 2012 (Rosalia).
Ada was a woman grounded deeply by her faith, praying the rosary every day and never missing the televised Mass, even until the very end. Some of her proudest moments were watching her children and grandchildren celebrate their First Communions and Confirmations, and then reminiscing about them in the daily phone conversations she had with each of her siblings, with whom she shared an especially close bond.
She will be remembered for her continuous acts of love, thoughtfulness, and generosity to those around her.

To the family, my deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved mother, grandmother and loved one. It was an honour to care for her and to witness the special person she was.
Even though our time together was part of my work, the connection and memories were very real and meaningful to me. I will always carry those memories in my heart.
Sending your family love, comfort, and strength during this difficult time 🙏
She will be missed but never forgotten. ❤️
Our deepest condolences to the family. Ada and Amerigo were our across the street neighbours for many years. I fondly remember Ada at Weston Produce when I would shop with my baby girl and she would always come rushing over to say hi and spend a few minutes playing with her. Rest in eternal peace Ada.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our cousin Ada. Sending our deepest and sincere condolences to the entire family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this most difficult time.
RIP Ada.
