elevated 3Fu7n Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ada Marinuzzo on February 9, 2022, at the age of 86. Ada is predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, Marino, loving mother to her sons Antonio (Maria) and John (Raffaella) and proud grandmother to Vanessa, Amanda, Joseph, and Robert. Ada was the loving daughter of the late Nicola and Antonietta Di Nizio, caring sister to Mario and Emilio and predeceased by her brother Eduardo and her sisters Anna and Pina. She will always be cherished by her nephews and nieces and fondly remembered by extended family and friends near and far.

elevated 3Fu7n Ada was born in Mafalda, a small town in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region of Molise. At the age of 20 she moved to Canada to pursue dreams of getting married, starting a family, and exploring work opportunities. She married her husband Marino that same year and together they established routes in Toronto, Ontario. Ada first found employment at a mattress factory and both her and Marino worked hard for years to save money and lay a solid foundation for their family. Ada stopped working when she became a mother to her eldest son in April 1966. After a year, she had her second son and decided that she would refrain from working to raise her two sons at home full time. She provided child care for her nephews as well as a few neighborhood children. Ada later worked at a local banquet hall on the weekends as a sous chef. She enjoyed an early retirement and spent cherished time with family and friends while pursuing other interests and pastimes.

elevated 3Fu7n Ada was witty and charming and had a great sense of humour. She will always be remembered for her boundless generosity, fierce loyalty, and caring nature. Her family was her proudest accomplishment, and nothing brought her greater joy than being a devoted mother and grandmother. Ada was a wonderful cook and enjoyed sharing her amazing dishes and recipes with others. She was a gracious hostess and loved having friends and relatives over for good conversation over an espresso or red wine and homemade sweets. Ada loved gardening and took pride and care in her beautiful garden surrounding her home often sharing fresh cut flowers with admirers.

elevated 3Fu7n Ada was a very strong and resilient woman who despite all her medical ailments throughout the years, remained positive and optimistic. For the past 14 years, Ada suffered through Alzheimer’s and succumbed to this disease enduring all its complexities with such admirable dignity, perseverance, and strength. Despite this diagnosis, her passion for life and her contagious curiosity was no different. She was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all.

elevated 3Fu7n Due to COVID, a private mass and funeral will be held on February 15 at 9:00 a.m. If desired, donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Toronto or Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
