elevated Wt1fx Obituary

elevated Wt1fx It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ada Pellegrini (nee, Cantarutti) on August 24th, 2023, in her home, at the age of 88.  Reunited with Serge, her beloved husband for 29 years, she leaves her children Sandra (Dave Reid), Robert (Katherine), Joan (Barrie Laver) and Nancy (Sam Cuda).  She was the much-loved and treasured Gramma to Patrick (Christina), Emily (Casey Lennon), Eric, Danielle, Erica, Michael, Natalie, Andrew and Christian, and a cherished great-grandmother to Portia, Elle, Milan and Isla.

elevated Wt1fx Lovingly remembered by her sister-in law Nellie Cressatti, and by her nieces and nephews Charles (Marisa), Mary (Celeste), Janet (John), Richard (Nadia), David (Rocchina) and John (Stephanie), and their families, with whom she had a close bond.

elevated Wt1fx Ada was born in Toronto on June 12, 1935 to Maria and Angelo Cantarutti.  She was predeceased by her dear sister Yola and her husband Emilio Gambin, her mother and father in-law Emily and Quinto Pellegrini and brother-in-law, Eliseo Cressatti.

elevated Wt1fx Ada lived a full life of love and friendships.  As a long-time member of the Thornhill Club,  she was an avid golfer and bridge player.   She enjoyed playing golf with her grandchildren, all who started the game at her club.  She enjoyed a long career at Compufreight where she worked alongside her nephew Charles for over 20 years.  Ada had a talent for poetry and gifted her family with a personal poem to commemorate milestone events.

elevated Wt1fx Ada was an inspiration and role model to all who knew her.  Devoted to her faith, she taught us by example and was the epitome of resilience, strength and grace.   She will be greatly missed.

elevated Wt1fx Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd. East, Thornhill, on Tuesday August 29th from 2 to 5pm and 6 to 8pm.  Funeral Mass to be celebrated at Blessed Trinity Parish, 3220 Bayview Avenue, North York on Wednesday August 30th at 10am.

elevated Wt1fx If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

elevated Wt1fx Re Funeral Mass Wednesday August 30th Livestream starts at approximately 9:45am for funeral mass at 10:00am

elevated Wt1fx   This will take you to our webpage. When you get there click on the “Live Feed” button at the top right of the page. This will automatically scroll you down to the Live Feed area. Once there, click on “Livestreaming” on the left-hand side. The video will go live about 10 to 15 min before the funeral mass starts. Those who go onto the site and see no livestream are likely there before the 10 to 15min before the feed begins. Simply go back to the “live feed” and click on the button again closer to the start time of the funeral and the feed should come up on your screen.

elevated Wt1fx  A few notes:

elevated Wt1fx *When the video launches hover your mouse over the lower left-hand part of the video screen on the webpage … there you will see a small speaker with an X beside it. Click on the speaker to enable the sound (the X will disappear)

elevated Wt1fx * Click on the box on the far-right hand side of the video screen on the webpage (“full screen”) and the picture will fill your entire screen

elevated Wt1fx *The volume of the sound is controlled from the computer/device you are on. You may need to increase the volume on their computer / device to hear things properly.

elevated Wt1fx *A computer is the best way to watch the broadcast. Cell phones and iPad do work – marginally, but (especially) older models can sometimes have limited or outdated technology that doesn’t always manage the sizable data that comes in with both audio and video broadcasting. An old computer can also have these issues…

elevated Wt1fx Also – we are broadcasting this over the internet, a system that has seen an incredible increase in use given the pandemic challenges. Potential streaming delays, frozen frames and so on do happen on occasion and unfortunately, we have no control over these situations. Further there can be delays or challenges with the internet feed in any number of neighbourhoods at anytime. Again, we have no control over this. Fortunately, they have been minimal, but we wanted you to be aware.
