elevated Mb1g8 God called Alberto Pereira peacefully on April 30, 2025 at the age of 84. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives and many friends.
Alberto was well known in the horse world, many great stories. He will be missed dearly.
We all loved Alberto at Cedar Creek Farm and we miss him.
Interesting, kind, generous, helpful, a real gentleman and an inspiration.
His witty sense of humour made me laugh many times.
I have good memories and some nice pictures of Alberto riding Arnie.

Alberto was a dear, compassionate, kind, and wonderful neighbour. I will miss him dearly.
Alberto – we enjoyed our time together on our horses in the Hunt field.
The time together was meaningful and very enjoyable. Thank you.
Alberto, your beloved horse Arnie who you entrusted to our care and love, is happy and thriving. We sorely regret that we never got to meet you, and you didn’t get to see your quirky heart horse one more time. Rest in peace Alberto. Susan and John Zelasko, Belwood, ON
Carl and I met Alberto in the hunt field. A capable horseman who kept us entertained with his history in the horse world in Hong Kong. He will be deeply missed.
I’m so sad to hear this news. Alberto was a wonderful horseman, a good friend and a consummate gentleman. He will be missed on the Hunt field.
Alberto – a perfect gentleman and I so much enjoyed riding with him in the hunt field and hearing his stories of racing in Hong Kong. We will miss you. Rest in peace
It was a pleasure to have known Alberto. He was a wonderful kind man and an excellent horseman. He will be missed.
I have many fond memories of riding and hunting with Alberto. He was kind, with a querky sence of humour. A great horseman and just a lovely gentleman. I will miss you Alberto
I met Alberto only a year ago at the barn. He was such a gentleman and loved his time with his horse, Arnie. I’d look forward to see him almost daily and have a conversation about Arnie or other things that were on our minds. It was always a pleasure to watch the two of them together, walking, riding or just hanging out. Alberto and his positive energy is definitely missed
I will miss Alberto very much. We had several riding adventures and many good times at my BBQs and parties. He was always good company and a sweet gentle soul . I was privileged to be his friend. God bless you Alberto and your family. I know you found peace knowing that Arnie found a good home. Margo
I was fortunate to have met Alberto if only for a short time through his love of horses. He had the most beautiful energy and welcoming smile. He lived life to the fullest, what a great role model of never stop doing what you love. Rest in peace.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Alberto’s passing. We hunted together several times with the Toronto & North York Hunt and the Eglinton & Caledon Hounds. Over the last two years, our hacks were a source of great companionship and joy. I enjoyed hearing about his life in Hong Kong, his work at HSBC, his family, and sharing our stories about horses and the hunt field. Alberto was a humble man, an exceptional horseman, and above all, a true gentleman. I will greatly miss our time together in the saddle. In the foxhunting tradition, the last horn call is known as “Going Home.” It feels especially fitting now. I like to think that horses are part of his heaven, and that he’s gone home, in the very best sense.
I have lost track of how many decades ago Alberto came to Camelot in Gormley to ride my horse, such an exceptionally skilled horsemen that other horse owners lined up to ask him to ride theirs too. Susan, only today did I learn from you that he had been on Hong Kong’s Olympic team in his youth. He rode with me in the Toronto and North York Hunt, and served as the club’s treasurer. Everyone who met him soon came to appreciate his outstanding qualities, including modesty, delightful sense of humour, unfailing kindness.
Today I met his brother Peter; please give Peter my email.
