It is with profound sadness the family announces the passing of Aldo Vanin on February 23, 2026 at the age of 94. Beloved husband to the late Luisa. Father to his sons Renato (Anna) and Sandro (Angela). Nonno to Daniel, Lisa, Julianna and Sophia. Great grandfather to Alessio, Eliana and Luciano. As well as extended family in Canada and Italy. Aldo will be deeply missed and will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Aldo was born in Italy and as a young man he made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada with the vision to build a new life. With little more than a suitcase in his hand and a relentless work ethic, he followed that dream.
He worked tirelessly as a carpenter, often taking on difficult tasks and sacrificing to ensure that his children had opportunities he never had. Being a man of profound strength and integrity, and with the support of his wife, he taught his family the value of hard work, persistence and dedication to family. Though they are no longer with us, their legacy and lessons are passed on to future generations.
Aldo’s eagerness to help, sharing wisdom, encouraging words of “just do the best as you can” and witty sense of humour will be sorely missed but never forgotten. These will forever be remembered in our hearts.
Rest in peace.

Dear, Sandro. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Losing someone close to you causes pain for which there are no words. Nothing I can possibly say will take away the hurt and pain you’re feeling, but I hope you know that you have many people who care about you and who are feeling your sadness too. It will take time and patience. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I was fortunate to work at Villa da Vinci Retirement, where Aldo lived. His warm smile always brightened my day. He was consistently kind and respectful to me and to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all of us.
Sending love, strength, and heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time
Aldo and Luisa were long time friends/paesani of my parent. Aldo was born in Quinto di Treviso like my mother. Now Aldo will be reunited with Luisa and close to the other paesani at Queen of Heaven. My mother Luisa and myself offer our heartfelt condolences to all of Aldo’s family. May his memory be a blessing.
Clara and Luisa Bertollo
