elevated EbCCl Obituary

elevated EbCCl Alex Lako, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away suddenly at the age of 69, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his family and community.

elevated EbCCl Alex’s life was a tapestry woven with love, humor, and a profound connection to the people he cherished. A devoted partner for 44 years, Alex was married to his loving wife, Janina, with whom he built a life of shared laughter and unwavering support. He adored his daughter, Christine (Mark), and was always eager to help, whether it was with baking (and eating) Christmas cookies or building a backyard deck. His new grandson, Theodore, brought him immense joy and fulfillment as a grandfather, and he enjoyed the entirety of the three precious months he spent cherishing his grandson.

elevated EbCCl He treated his goddaughter, Betty, and his many nieces and nephews like his own children. He was a significant influence in their lives, providing guidance, encouragement, and love. They fondly remember discussions spanning many topics from electronics and movies to life advice and being a good parent. He was also a reliable source of support for his parents John and Ethel, who predeceased him, his sister, Elizabeth and his mother-in-law, Maria.

elevated EbCCl Alex’s professional journey at IBM provided stability for 31 years, where he was an innovator ahead of his time. However, his true calling was his deep love for family and friends and his vibrant, joyful spirit. His generosity was boundless, always willing to help friends, neighbors, and family members, particularly with navigating the complexities of modern technology. His home was a testament to his skills, where he could fix almost anything, and his heart was forever devoted to his family. He had a persistent hunger for knowledge and wanted to teach Theodore about everything he knew.

elevated EbCCl In his earlier years, Alex was a dedicated photographer who captured weddings and family moments with skill and care. He also enjoyed playing in the Atlantis band and other groups with musical talents that spanned the accordion, piano, trumpet, and saxophone. His love for music formed a cornerstone in his life, and he will be remembered as a musical entertainer who was the life of every party. He brought warmth and joy to every occasion, whether it was leading the family tradition of singing Christmas carols or calling loved ones and singing “Happy Birthday” to them over the phone.

elevated EbCCl Alex Lako was a man of many talents. He was not only a skilled musician, a patient computer mentor, and a devoted family man, but his knowledge of technology, from 3D printing to AI, reflected his lifelong passion of keeping up with the modern world. His memory is etched deeply in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will be remembered for his infectious optimism, his unwavering support, and his ability to make anyone feel like the center of his world. Alex Lako leaves behind a legacy of technology and music, but most importantly the enduring warmth of a truly gentle soul and wonderful person.
