elevated 929HN On October 6th 2026 Alfred “Freddie” DeGiorgio passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Born in Malta, then immigrated with his family to Canada in 1956. He was a proud Canadian for most of his years but always had Malta in his heart.
elevated 929HN Beloved son of Spiro & Michelina, Brother Charlie (Florence), Sisters Antoinette (Albert), Phyllis (Alex), Rosemary (Larry), Joan (Ray) and Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
elevated 929HN Alfred worked for many years at York University. He loved watching and listening to all sports, especially his Toronto teams. He talked often about animals he encountered daily including feeding squirrels from the palm of his hand.
elevated 929HN Thank you to the staff at Extenicare Sherwood Court for the care they have given him in his last years of life.
Uncle Freddie loved animals and was generous to those in need. As a young man, he could easily be mistaken for a professional wrestler, but once you talked to him, you quickly realised that he was a humble, kind and soft spoken man. He enjoyed discussions surrounding sports and news of the moment, and was very knowledgeable on most topics.
He will be missed dearly by all, and may he rest in peace with Nana and Nanu.
