elevated AuCh1 Obituary
It is with saddened hearts that we share the passing of Alfred Vella in the afternoon of Sunday, July 13, 2025 at the age of 89. After a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, he departed peacefully on his own at the Long Term Care home.
elevated AuCh1 Born in Hamrun, Malta, to Domenico and Agnes Vella, he moved to Canada in 1954 and met his loving wife Jane (Mifsud) of 64 years. Together their family grew and so did the memories. He will be sincerely missed by his children Tony (Fatima), Marlene (Stephen), Karen (Adrienne). A proud Nannu to his grandchildren, Dominic-James and Samantha, who he helped raise and mentor, and to Christina, Michelle and Dani who held a special place in his heart.
elevated AuCh1 Passionate about his cars and appreciation to meticulous details found in his model building, he admired small details that not everyone noticed. When time took away his ability to continue with his hobbies, you would still find him with a flashlight explaining the details behind his proud work. His love for Opera undeniably filled the home on many occasions, with his witty sense of humour and smile that would touch your heart. He will forever be remembered as the man who can fix anything!
elevated AuCh1 Visitation will be held on Thursday July 17, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Assumption Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga.

To my friend and coworker Karen. I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Dear Vella family,
I wish you weren’t going through this painful moment, for our most beloved ones always leave us too soon.
I didn’t have neither the chance nor the privilege of meeting Alfred, but I’m completely sure it would have been a wonderful and fulfilling experience, for the amazing work of art he has produced by raising Karen, shaping her assertive yet loving way of dealing with life and giving her such a wide and clear view of how to live, always making the best of it!
I wish you all may find comfort in his rest, knowing he’s not suffering.
I leave you with my sincere condolences and respect.
And, Dear Karen, I am here for anything you need.
Love,
João
