elevated GJTS8 Andrew Joseph Gomes, a devout Catholic, venerator of Mary, passed peacefully on February 9, 2024 at the age of 91. Born in Georgetown, British Guiana to Carlos and Elva Muriel, he is survived by Bridget, his loving wife for 65 years. Cherished by his dear children Anne (John), Christine (Nick), Brian (Amanda), Pamela (Jack), David (Evelyn), and Derrick (Faye), he was a devoted grandfather to Tara, Julia, Amanda, Johanna, Jason, Alastair, Zane, Savannah, Holly, Gavin, William, Lillian, Madelyn, Stanley and Michael. Predeceased by his siblings Mary, Joyce, Camille, Elson and Cynthia, he is survived by his loving brothers John, Charles and Michael. A brilliant lawyer, historian, lover of dogs and roses, and raconteur, he will be missed dearly by his immediate family, his many nieces and nephews, and many friends. In memory of Andrew, donations can be made to the Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities (SCHC) or any Catholic charity.
