elevated inD5i It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Angela Di Lella (née Martino) on October 8, 2026 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of 55 years to the late Vincenzo Di Lella. Loving mother of Giovanni (Sandra) and Maria Antonietta (Michele). Cherished Nonna of Angela (Gaspare), Vincenzo, Anna Maria and Julian. Predeceased by her parents Vito and Teresa (née Iozzo) Martino. Predeceased by her brothers Pasquale (Sara), Vincenzo (Teresa), Guerino (Elvira), and Nicola (Donna), and her sisters Caterina (the late Raffaele), Maria (the late Angelo), and Assunta (the late Nicola).

elevated inD5i Born in San Nicola da Crissa, Vibo Valentia, Italy, Angela immigrated to Canada in December 1958 with her brother Nicola when she was 20 years old. They travelled by boat to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and took a train to Toronto, where they settled. In Toronto, Angela met her beloved husband Vincenzo and they raised their two children. Angela was a devout Catholic and attended church daily. She had a passion for cooking, and especially loved hosting large lunches every Sunday for her family. Angela was the most fun to be around and loved to share stories from her past with family and friends. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and tending to her flowers and vegetable garden every summer. Angela’s caring heart and generosity touched the lives of all those who knew her. Angela loved all her family and friends deeply.

elevated inD5i The Di Lella family sincerely thanks the staff at Mariann Home for the loving care and compassion given to Angela over her three years in residence. Our heartfelt thanks also go to Father John, the Missionary Sisters of the Precious Blood, and the Legion of Mary for their spiritual support and prayers, which kept Angela’s faith strong throughout her time at Mariann Home.
