Sending my condolences to the Furlin family. Angie was a bright light and cared so much for others. She will be missed and remembered by many staff and students.
Angela Furlin was undoubtedly the best adult influence of my elementary school years. She was always a bright, funny, and caring principal. I hope she knows that. My condolences extend to her family but also to everyone who knew her as I did. Her energy was always unmatched. Rest in peace.
Angie was a truly amazing, caring and passionate woman who touched so many lives. Her love for her daughters was like no other. Angie opened her heart and home to all of the girls friends and became a second mother to them. Angie will be truly missed by all that were lucky to have known her. 💚💚💚
Angie was a very special woman, she was filled with energy, courage, excitement and always had a contagious smile on her face. She always welcomed all of Sam and Selena’s friends and made us all feel like family, comfortable and safe. She created a second home for us a place where we could all laugh, be ourselves together and enjoy friendship. I remember nights in the basement and mornings followed by croissants and giggles, I remember school essays being reviewed by Angie and her always giving us advice on how to be the best that we can be on the soccer field and in school. I even remember the sticky notes she would leave to keep us organized. Angie was smart and well spoken and I always admired that about her and looked up to her intelligence, guidance and strength as a woman. She raised truly special girls who are selfless and are once in a lifetime friends. I am grateful to have known Angie, and to know her is to love her. Angie you will always be remembered, and will be missed. Lots of love. 💚💚💚💚💚💚
My thought, prayers and hugs go out to Angie’s friends and family. She will be deeply missed.
Sending my condolences to Angie Furlins family and friends . She played a huge role in my life when I was in elementary school at KPS and I will forever be greatful for the help and warm presence she always provided for my family . She will always be Remembered
Sending my condolences to the family. We worked together in the same school for a short time. I’ll always remember Angie as a lady full of energy and one who cared deeply about her students. She had a smile that would light up a room. Now she’s an angel that will light up from above!
Angie always made sure that the kids had lots of fun at L.H. Frechette Public School. She treated them like they were her own, all 660 of them . She always danced with the kids at the Halloween party which made her a great principal. May she rest in peace.
Please accept our deepest condolences, gone too soon.
To Angie’s family:
Wishing you strength as you go through these toughest times!
Angie remains on in our minds and hearts as a true force of nature: warm, compassionate, and unwavering in her support of others. As a principal, she went above and beyond the call of duty, advocating for her staff and students, leading with heart, courage and kindness.
Sincere condolences!
Rejoice in memories.
My condolences to her family and close friends. I will always remember Angie’s infectious laugh and her dedication to staff and students. She will be missed by many.
I’m so saddened and extremely shocked to hear this news. Angie was always the most energetic and bright light in the room. Her energy couldn’t be contained and it flowed through whatever school she taught at and into all her wonderful students who benefited so much from her. Not everybody has a chance to have their principal make a difference in their lives, but both of my boys did and I couldn’t be more grateful for it. May she rest in peace and may her family find strength in their memories of this truly incredible woman.
My condolences to her friends and family. She was such a bright light when I attended Frechette and her energy was infectious. She will be missed.
So sorry to hear this news, Angie was always so pleasant and lovely to work with, she was a wonderful passionate principal at LHF and beloved by the students and parents. This is tragic news and she will be missed. Keeping all her loved ones in my thoughts.
My condolences to the family. Angie was such a sweet person and always kind and helpful soul. She will be sorely missed by many.
May she rest in peace.
We are thinking of all of you. Angie was deeply admired and loved by all, and was a beautiful woman inside and out. I will forever remember her.
Angie was a vibrant and dynamic force in our school community. Her energy was palpable in every room she entered. She loved lime green, a “round of applause” and I remember her vividly on the megaphone. She was a strong advocate and cared about people deeply. Her passion and enthusiasm were always felt and I will never forget her. Sending my heartfelt condolences to her family at this time.
My condolences to her family. She was such a force! Energetic and friendly to all. Her students loved her and she made school fun. She will be missed and forever remembered
My goodness this is a shock. As parents of one of the students who luckily attended Louis Honoré Fréchette under her time as principal, we can say that her impact will be forever recognized and treasured.
If it were not for Ms. Furlin, our child, as most certainly many others, would possibly not have had so much care and support. Ms. Furlin quickly recognized our child’s abilities and needs. I know that he found her to be a port in the storm. When he was having a hard time here or there, he knew he could go straight to her.
Rest in peace, Angie, and thank you so much for everything. You will be forever lovingly remembered by our family.
So very sorry to hear the news of Angie’s passing. She was a true original who lived life to its fullest and lead with her heart. Her presence will be deeply missed. Sending my condolences to her family and friends.
Angie always showed deep empathy for her students and steadfast support for her staff. She carried herself with incredible energy and presence. My deepest condolences to her beloved daughters, whom she always spoke of with such pride and love. Her impact will be felt for a long time.
So sad to hear the news of Angie’s passing. My son was fortunate to spend a year or so with Angie as his principal. She was a trailblazer with pioneering ideas that still live on at LHF. Her passion and energy were contagious and she led with only the kids’ best interests at heart.
Sending love and condolences to her family.
We were so saddened to hear of Angie’s passing. Angie was the principal at LH Frechette when our children attended the school. Angie cared so much about the students. Her energy and enthusiasm was evident in everything that she did. She had such a wonderful personality. Wishing her family much strength during this difficult time.
Sending my prayers and condolences to her family and loved ones ❤️ She was such a bright and energetic memory from my childhood at LHF and will never be forgotten.
May she Rest in Peace.
It is such sad news, and hard to believe that Ms. Angie Furlin passed away yesterday. She was a wonderful principal and a truly great educator. I will always remember her warm smile and cheerful spirit.
She touched the lives of so many students and families, and she will be remembered with love and gratitude. She will be deeply missed by her students, colleagues, and parents alike.
Saddened to hear this news about the most beautiful and energetic woman who we had the pleasure of knowing while she was the principal at LH Frechette. We were lucky enough to have her for the whole time our eldest son was at the school. To say that she was a powerhouse is an understatement, but to all who knew her she was truly a warm and giving person who put the needs of her students first. I’ve talked to so many parents in the last few hours who’ve all said the same thing… If it wasn’t for Angie and her advocacy for kids with ADHD, I don’t know where my child would be or where their education would have gone. She was a champion for those kids and so many more and I believe she truly saw the potential and unique abilities of every child who passed through those doors. Our world was a better place having known her and having been touched by her in our hearts. To her family and all her friends who must be feeling this loss immensely, we send our deepest condolences and prayers that she may rest in peace.
My family sends our most heartfelt condolences to the family and all those whose lives were touched by Angie. There were many. Both our boys were blessed to go to Frechette during Angie’s time and they were both taken under her wings. My youngest especially struggled a great deal in those early years of his school life. I will never forget that Angie said her main job was to help children like my son – and that she did. Thanks in large part to her, my son got the supports he needed and he is a thriving, happy, beautiful young man now. Angie was instrumental in showing him and us (his parents) the way. Angie has forever left an imprint on our son’s life and our hearts. She was a special soul and will be dearly missed.
My deepest condolences to Angie’s family.
Angie believed deeply in the potential of her staff and students, supporting, encouraging, and championing them with every fibre of her being. She made it her mission to make others feel welcome, included and valued, and turned L.H.F. and the office into a warm, safe place to be. I am heartsick knowing the world has lost such incredible example of kindness and compassion.
I am so saddened by this news. I met Angela when she brought her girls to swim time we created a friendship that continued as my daughter ended up attending one of the schools she was the principal of. Angela was an amazing teacher, principal and advocate. But more important she was a wonderful person. I know how much she loved her girls with all of her heart. I’m sorry that I had lost touch with her over the years but think about her often. I’m sending my condolences and big hugs to her family. I’m so sorry for your loss xo
Angie possessed a rare gift; her vibrant energy could brighten the darkest day and fill every hall of Fréchette with a sense of hope. Her dedication was unmatched. She gave our school a sense of purpose that will not be forgotten. My deepest respects and prayers for comfort go out to her family.
Angie will be greatly missed by all her previous colleagues and friends in teaching. Angie was such a wonderful person who was so passionate about her job, and absolutely loved working with the kids. She never failed to make them laugh! I will never forget how she believed in me and really helped me with improving in my teaching practice.
My deepest condolences to Angie’s family. I have fond memories as a child when Ms. Furlin was my principal at KPS, and she would lead the assemblies with the “round of applause”! I will always remember her kindness and energy. She will be dearly missed.
Mme. Furlin was such a force. I remember when she first started working at LHF. Everyone thought she was a little kooky with her lime green and eyelashed car, and she liked it that way. I hope she knows what an impact she had on not only my educational experience (I just graduated university summa cum laude) but also my social life. Mme. Furlin, I hope you would be happy to know that I still have the same best friends that I did when we used to sit in your office. I hope you know your joy, ADHD advocation, and megaphone were highlights of my elementary school experience. I’ll be giving you a round of applause, I hope you receive it.
Angie was my elementary school teacher almost 40 years ago. One of my most cherished memories in life was of me racing with a friend to her classroom at Christmas to give her her present because we both had a crush on her and I wanted to be first. I tripped, and when I got to her doorway second, the moment was upstaged by the smell of wine pouring onto the classroom floor from the bag it had broken in when I fell. I was so fond of her, I went to my homeroom teacher and asked her if I could give Angie her present instead. I was probably 9 or 10 years old. I am brought back to those years when I had the great benefit of her kindness, enthusiasm and love and it has endured in my heart for 4 decades. My love to the entire family and my sincerest condolences.
Angie was a force of nature. She loved people and dedicated her energy and passion to helping everyone who crossed her path. She created school communities that were equitable and respectful and infused them with energy and fun. She was definitely a one of a kind and will never be forgotten. Thank you Angie for being in my life and in the lives of countless nmbers of students, colleagues, friends and of course, your family and your beautiful girls, Samantha and Selena.
Angie was a good friend to our family. Her impact was far reaching. What a great lady who spread encouragement and sound advice. A soul left the world.
It is with such sorrow that we say goodbye to Angie. She was such a welcoming, kind and incredible co-worker and friend.
My sincerest condolences to her entire family.
Sending warm wishes.
This news has been a tremendous shock. There is only one way to visualize Angie and that is with a very happy smile and abundant enthusiasm. My fondest memory of Angie was when, many years ago at an admin meeting, she asked that I give her my green spring jacket because she said it was the perfect colour for her! Now I wish I had done just that. I’m so sad to hear of her passing. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Angie’s family and friends. Sending you strength at this very challenging time.
Words can’t begin to describe the energy, love and life that is Angie! She lived exactly as she loved – hard, fearless and with a heart that knew no limits. Her laughter filled rooms, her loyalty ran deep, and her presence made life brighter (yes, she loved her neon green), bolder and more meaningful for everyone lucky enough to really know her. She was more than a friend, she was a mentor, a guiding light and a sister in every sense of the word. The loss of our 25-year+ sisterhood will leave an ache words cannot fully carry, but her spirit, strength, and unforgettable love will continue to live on in the lives she touched so profoundly. My condolences to Sam, Selena, Gino and her whole family. God bless you all and bring you the strength you need at this difficult time! My prayers are with you all! Hugs!
Angie was such a lovely human being, I was a student of hers back in the late 80’s and I can still vividly recall her voice, her laugh and the joy she radiated throughout the school. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. I ran into her at a track meet a few years after she left our school and she was still cheering me on during my race. She really was a great teacher, she even made math fun! Sending hugs to her family.
Words cannot express how much Angie has done for us. Her words of wisdom will continue to guide us in the years to come and her presence in our lives has been a true gift. She quickly became a huge part of our family—our source of comfort, strength, and unconditional support. We all loved her so much, and we will forever carry her kindness, generosity, and love in our hearts.
Please accept our deepest condolences on Angie’s passing. Angie was our son’s principal at LHF and ferociously fought for him and many others with ADHD to get the supports they needed. Her dedication to her profession has not gone unnoticed. May her memory be a blessing.
“Madame Furlin”, as the kids all addressed her at L.H. Frechette French immersion school, was an incredible principal. When talking to her in the hallway, she seemed to know the name of every student that walked by. She made a real difference in our children’s lives.
Angie had a rare and beautiful gift. She truly saw people. She gave me a voice when I wasn’t sure I had one and reminded me of the leadership she already believed lived inside me.
She led with love, humour, and deep belief in those around her. I am who I am today because she chose to see me. I will carry her warmth and laughter with me always.
My heart is with Samantha, Selina, and Gino. May you always feel her love in the stories, the laughter, and the countless lives she touched. Angie’s light lives on through you!💚💚💚
