elevated uoayl Obituary
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Angela at the age of 91 just three days shy of her 92nd birthday. Angela is predeceased by her husband Euplio Puopolo in 2012, and by her sister Nicolina and brother Nicola. Loving mother of Joe (Mary), Giulio (Agnese) and Maria (Percy). Cherished Nonna of Joey (Stefania), Angelica (Walid), John Carlo, Juliana and Marc.

elevated uoayl  Angela has lived a wonderful and full life, starting in Anzano Italy, where she was born almost 92 years ago. With her passing, we have lost the final direct contact we had with that great generation of Italian pioneers who left Italy with the mission of creating a more fulfilled life in Canada. Angela left Italy in 1956 with her husband and 2 little boys and they headed for Canada. The family’s move to a new country was inspired by the hope that they could participate in the much-promised opportunities and dreams offered by Canada.

elevated uoayl  Angela was always taking the lead. She was a devoted wife to her husband for 60years, she was a caring and nurturing mother to her children, she managed the family finances and held down a full-time job to augment the family income. After many years of hard work, determination and self-sacrifice – almost to a fault, she provided a nurturing home for her children and grandchildren.

elevated uoayl Her passions included family, love and food. Always with a spirit of independence and strength of character, Nonna Angela embraced modern condo living in her late 80s. This included walking over to the mall with her little cart in tow to gather her groceries, spending time tending to the small potted garden of tomatoes and herbs that she created on her balcony, and she even attended senior fitness classes once a week.

elevated uoayl Angela passed away at the Hill House Hospice on the afternoon of March 24.

elevated uoayl She left us as she wanted, quietly and peacefully in her sleep – so silently that people in her room were unaware of her passing. The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Hill House Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they showered on our beloved matriarch.

elevated uoayl  We thank her for the memories that will last a lifetime.  She will always be missed but will remain forever in our hearts and in our memories.
