elevated iEhOc It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Angela (also known as Gina) Stanfa on January 28, 2021 at Humber River Hospital. She was 97 yrs old. She was born on April 7 1923 in Racalmuto, Sicily and was the daughter of Calogero and Maria Tornabene. She was one of 9 siblings and one of the first to leave Sicily for a better life in Canada. She helped her sister Rosalia and her beloved brother Luigi emigrate from Sicily to Canada so that they too could begin a new life of possibilities. After the loss of her husband, Antonio Bordonaro in 1970, she resided with her sister Rosalia, brother-in-law, Joe and their 2 daughters, Domenica and Mary. Angela was never blessed with children but the love she had for her nieces and nephews knew no bounds. She cared for and loved them all as if they were her own. She remarried Vito Stanfa many years later and became the centre of a new family with 3 stepdaughters, Agata, Antonina and Josie, their husbands and numerous step grandchildren who loved and cared for her. Angela will be remembered as a beautiful woman, with a huge heart. She was a thoughtful woman who touched the hearts of all who knew her. She lived her life with grace and class and an amazing sense of style. Angela lived a life full of joy, love and family and we will miss her dearly.
