elevated qw9Cc Angus John Murphy passed away peacefully at the age of 88 at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on April 1, 2021. Born in Margaree, Cape Breton Angus was the son of Michael & Willena Murphy. Besides his parents, Angus was predeceased by his wife Catherine, sons Neil and Colin, sisters Bell and Rebecca and brother Archie.
elevated qw9Cc Survived by his son Harry and siblings Michael, Harry, Linda and grandchildren Katelyn, David, James, Steele, Summer, Cole and many nieces and nephews. Angus will be missed by family and friends for his unconditional love for everyone. He will be cremated and buried with his wife at a later date. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Angus was such a kind and gentle man with a great sense of humour. He was also very humble. I remember saying how handsome he was and he would say “oh go on now”, and laugh. It was easy to see how much he loved his family and how proud he was of them all. It was an honour to know him. May he rest in paradise 🙏❤️

Harry and family, we are very saddened to hear of Angus’s passing. He was a wonderful, kind, and humble man with a very Cape Breton sense of humour. He and Kay were very much a part of not just our lives, but of everyone on Willard Avenue.

Angus boarded at our house in Mabou in the forties when he went to high school at St. Joseph’s Convent. I was not born until the fifties so I never met him. However, my parents spoke so highly of him for many years after he left here that I thought I should tell his family that he was regarded as “a fine fellow”, even as a teenager.
