elevated q2p8c September 25, 1930 – July 19, 2021

elevated q2p8c It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Castellan (née Iannicelli) on July 19, 2021 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Giovanni (deceased), loving mother to Angelo (Gina) and Bill (Gabriella), proud grandmother to John (Lena), Daniella, Michael and Catherine (Jean-Paul), and great grandmother to Adele.

elevated q2p8c Anna was born and spent her childhood in Naples, Italy. She was the eldest sister in a very large family, and was a role model for her younger siblings. At the age of 24, she set sail for Canada and a new life with her soon-to-be husband Giovanni. A devoted wife and mother, Anna worked very hard both at and away from her home so that her children would grow up to be well-rounded and well-educated. Despite not having much free time on her hands, Anna never complained and always had a smile on her face.

elevated q2p8c Anna never forgot her Neapolitan roots. Her love of cooking tasty Neapolitan dishes was rivalled only by her passion for SSC Napoli calcio. Despite her declining physical health during her later years, she kept her sharp wit and sarcasm right to the end.  More than anything else however, she loved and held dear her family.

elevated q2p8c Visitation is planned for family and friends on Thursday, July 22, 5 PM to 8 PM, at Holy Cross Funeral Home. Due to COVID restrictions, a private mass and funeral will be held on Friday, July 23 at 12 noon at Holy Cross Funeral Home, to be followed by entombment. If desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
