elevated IK4UQ Obituary
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Anna DiGiuseppe (nee Belmonte) on June 26, 2026 at Mackenzie Health Hospital – a loving wife, mom and grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family.

elevated IK4UQ Anna is now forever reunited with her loving and awaiting husband Peter. Anna & Peter shared a deep and precious love. Their commitment and devotion to one another was a true gift. Our family was blessed to celebrate Anna & Peter’s 60th wedding anniversary in August, 2019.

elevated IK4UQ Anna was the most loving Mom and the proudest Nonnie! She will always be lovingly remembered by her children: Marlene, Nancy (Larry), Frank (Michele), Julia (Dan); along with her grandchildren: Philip (Shanae), Bradley, Isabella and Juliette (Zach). Anna’s life was filled with love, laughter and the joy of family.

elevated IK4UQ Anna was predeceased by her dear parents Mariano and Mafalda Belmonte; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Francesco and Giulietta DiGiuseppe; her brother Tony; her sister-in-law Valentina (the late Michael); and her brother-in-law Nicky.

elevated IK4UQ Anna will be fondly remembered by her brother Joe (Terri); her sister Mother Superior JoAnne; and her sisters-in-law Lidia (the late Nick), Jennifer and Diane. Anna will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

elevated IK4UQ Anna Antonietta Francesca was born in the small town of San Sisto, Italy on June 7th, 1940. Born at the beginning of World War 2, Anna was raised by her Mom and Grandparents.  Anna did not meet her Dad until she was almost 7 years old – upon his return from the war.

elevated IK4UQ As a young teenager, Anna along with her three siblings, and her parents emigrated from Italy to Canada in June, 1955. Like so many immigrants, her family arrived in Toronto with dreams of a better future. Anna immediately went to work in a toy factory to help support her family – where she began to learn the English language and culture of this new country she was proud to call home.

elevated IK4UQ However, once Anna met Peter (the love of her life), Anna took on the traditional & endearing role of homemaker. Anna took tremendous pride in raising & taking care of her family: driving Julia to organ lessons, Frank to hockey games & practices; Nancy and Marlene to dance classes & competitions; learning the traditional Italian recipes of both her mom and mother-in-law; planning, organizing and cooking for large family gatherings; baking dozens of cookies for the numerous family celebrations; traveling with Peter and her family to both local and faraway destinations; celebrating significant family events; and most importantly creating traditions and memories that have been passed on to her children & grandchildren.

elevated IK4UQ Anna will forever be remembered for her beautiful and infectious smile. She had the gift of the gab and enjoyed sharing a story with its many details. Her warm heart, cheerful attitude and unwavering devotion to family never went unnoticed. Anna’s life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith. She was a faithful and devoted Catholic and she drew strength from prayer and trust in God.

elevated IK4UQ Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Reminiscence Staff at Sunrise of Richmond Hill, and our overnight caregivers. Your exceptional care and support ensured peace of mind to our entire family. We are forever grateful for the dignity, compassion and comfort you all provided during Anna’s final journey.

elevated IK4UQ In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anna can be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
