elevated 5HST8 It is with heavy hearts and much love that we mourn the passing of Anne Zalec. With family by her side, Anne made her transition on January 20, 2023 at the age of 85. Devoted wife, loving mother, caring and affectionate grandmother. Gentle spirit. Kind. So kind. Apple strudel master. Pumpkin pie queen. Forever a gracious host at her table of plenty.
elevated 5HST8 Anne was born in Croatia in 1937 and emigrated to Canada in 1952. She is survived by daughter, Kelly, son-in-law, John Paul, and grandchildren, William and Charlotte. Anne is survived by son, Rick, daughter-in-law, Eleanor, and grandson, Michael. Anne is welcomed to her next life by her pre-deceased husband, Bill, and grandson, Nicholas.
elevated 5HST8 Anne worked tirelessly in the home during her children’s early years, then professionally in office administration, and continuously for over 30 years with husband, Bill, in owning, managing and maintaining a number of rental properties. Her work ethic was unmatched. Anne and Bill’s sense of adventure and fondness of warm climates had them travel extensively throughout North America and Mexico by motorhome.
elevated 5HST8 Anne’s greatest joys were her children and grandchildren. Anne was energetic and determined in supporting her children. Grandma Anne cherished spending time with her grandchildren – her pride and joy – whom she was known to refer to as “precious, just precious.” Anne had a heart of gold and will be remembered for her unwavering and selfless devotion to others and ability to make the world a better place. One thing we know for sure: Anne’s light is too bright to be dimmed and her love will continue to be our guide, now and forever.
