Our beloved mother passed away peacefully at Parry Sound Health Center On April 1, 2025 at the age of 92.
elevated SpVbe Born Aug 16, 1932 in Chelan, Saskatchewan to Alexander and Belle (nee Luciow) Serhan
elevated SpVbe The Beloved Wife to the late John Hnatiw, the Love of her Life.
elevated SpVbe Loving Mother to Eugene (predeceased), Carole (Steve), Wayne (Tammy) and Marvin (Janet)
elevated SpVbe Adoring Baba (Grandma) to Kelly, Michelle, Melissa (predeceased), Michael, Christine, Brenden, Brittany, Victoria, Brett, Mitchell, and Lisa
elevated SpVbe Great Baba to Audrey, Allie, Maryn, Liam, Austin, Calib, Emmit, Owen, Finlay, John, Shai and Harvey
elevated SpVbe Sister to the late Pauline, late Michael, and will be dearly missed by sister Stella.
elevated SpVbe She will be remembered fondly by her nieces and nephews.
elevated SpVbe After marrying John, they moved east to Toronto, where they lived before settling north of the city in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
elevated SpVbe Ann was actively involved in the Ukrainian Catholic Church, St. Vladimir’s in Thornhill in many aspects, from choir, women’s group, cooking for church dinners, dances and extensive other occasions. Ann stepped up, wherever needed.
elevated SpVbe She found joy in gardening, growing her own fruits and vegetables, and even raising chickens at a time.
elevated SpVbe She loved having friends over for a game of cards, and throwing endless parties for family and friends. Entertaining Many!
elevated SpVbe Her Love for old time country music and square dancing was an all time favorite passion.
elevated SpVbe She retired to Edmonton to spend time with her sisters, but recently returned to Ontario to be closer to her children.
elevated SpVbe It’s here that she would return home, and be reunited with her Love.
elevated SpVbe She will be sadly missed and held dear in our hearts forever!
elevated SpVbe We would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Parry Sound Health Center for their loving care, tenderness and compassion.

Carole your mom was a beautiful lady and always had a smile. I remember so well our years at Ross Doan Public School and going to your birthday parties. I think that was the first time I had birthday cake with money in it. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

To the Children and Family of Anne Hnatiw. My Heart grieves with yours on the passing of Your Dear Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. I will remember your mother and my Dear Beloved Sister for her smile and her welcoming personality. As we grew old together, we spent a lot of time with each other. I discovered Anne had a wonderful sense of Humor. Anne Always made me laugh. My thoughts and prayers will be with you and the family during this special and difficult time as we say our last goodbyes. It’s so hard to believe that she is no longer with us. May peace be with her; she will always be in our hearts. Sending love and big hugs to all the members of our family – You’re in my thoughts and Anne’s memory will live on. ❤️❤️
