elevated OXuNJ RUZYCKI, Anthony Orest went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2020, in his 92nd year.  Loving husband of Aniela (nee Olowiecka) – the love of his life, with whom he had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, devoted father of Richard (Janet), John (Johanna), Barbara (Steve) and Mark (Nikki). Beloved Dziadzio to Katie, Kristen (Travis), Nevaeh and Jake. Cherished brother-in-law to Staszka and Janka.  Treasured uncle to Chris (Marilyn) and Ewa (Lech), and great-uncle to Ashley and Lindsey.  Predeceased by his parents Michal and Paula, mother-in-law Agata, father-in-law Jan, sister-in-law Ludwika (Viktor) and sister Juta (Stanislaw).

elevated OXuNJ After surviving the Russian and German invasions of his native Poland as a child, Orest built a life for himself and his family in Canada, working nights to put himself through university, before launching a ~40 year career with Nortel, in Montreal and Toronto. His stoic work ethic was second to none, and served as an inspiration to his children and those around him. His unfailing dedication to his family – the centre of his universe, was rooted in old world values.  He led by quiet example, guided by his strong character, adherence to principle, and innate sense of doing the right thing.

elevated OXuNJ No sooner back home from his workday designing telecommunications technology, he would bundle up his young children to teach them how to skate, quietly returning later to flood the rink for the neighborhood kids, then up early Sunday mornings for Mass before driving to the slopes to teach his children how to ski. His fondest memories included those lively family breakfasts at the cottage, which were followed by a day of therapeutic brush clearing outdoors.  All the while profoundly grateful for every second of the rewarding life he had built around his beloved family.
