elevated ORDi5 Anton passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Devoted husband to Thelma (nee Phillips). Adored father to Mario and his wife Sandra, Marianne and her husband Deepak Barbieri. Affectionate grandfather of Mariah, Kenneth, Gabriella, Alessandra, Michela, and Samuel. Cherished brother to Joe, Thomas, Peter and Paul.

elevated ORDi5 Anton was from Vasai, a district, a few hours from the city of Bombay. As a little boy growing up by the coast, he had a deep love for the ocean, marine life and the salty scents of the sea.

elevated ORDi5 As a young man, he left his father and brothers, for adventures at sea and for a career in information technology.

elevated ORDi5 Ever in search of adventures and a better life for his family, he first brought his family to the Middle East and finally to Canada where they settled in Toronto, Ontario.

elevated ORDi5 His real passion was always his wife, children and grandchildren. He gave himself selflessly and was devoted to helping his children succeed in life.

Anthony was a lovely human being and a kind and loving husband. He was supportive of Thelma and her journey throughout. Very few people would be such a pillar of strength. He was always there, always kind and giving, a selfless man who always thought of others first. God has welcomed into his fold a beautiful human being. What a lovely soul Anton was! I worked with him in Dubai for many, many years, and I have amazing memories of those days. Great fun, loads of laughs and a real connection of the heart with his fellow colleagues.
Although I loved many things about him, but one special act of his has always stayed with me. From work, many a times he would walk to the hospital adjacent to our offices, and go and talk to patients in the hospital, sharing a kind word, asking if there was anything he could do for them, making them laugh etc. The staff there knew him well and always allowed him to go and do his ‘service’. I was always touched with this beautiful selfless act of his. A deeply religious man, remarkable, and with a big heart, he spread happiness and energy all the time.
My heartiest condolences go to Thelma, the children and the whole family. Anton will surely be missed, and remembered very, very fondly, and always with a smile! May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may he spread happiness and laughter amongst the angels in his heavenly abode!

Anthony was our good friend who always cheered us up, gave us a listening ear and offered all moral support and sound advice.
Anthony will always be in our daily prayer at Holy Mass and Rosary. We are sure Jesus has called him to Himself through the powerful intercession of St. Francis of Sales (whose Feast day is commemorated on the very same day Anthony died (24th January) during the Novena to St. John Bosco.
Take courage Thelma as we keep you too in prayer. You have always been a pillar of strength and supporting guide to your family, and to all of us teachers at ‘Dubai Scholars High School’, Dubai for almost two decades. You have been a great mother to Mario and Marianne in all their growing years.
