elevated oYQAG Our beloved mom, oma, sister, aunt, and friend has left this world to go to her eternal home.
elevated oYQAG Antonia “Oma” Hendrika den Houdyker (nee van Rijnsoever, Dykers) died on October 12th, 2023, in her 95th year, surrounded by family at her new home in Aurora.
elevated oYQAG Born August 10th, 1928, in Vleuten, the Netherlands, Antonia bravely boarded a boat to Canada in 1954 and left Holland with her soon-to-be husband Arnold to start a new life together. They eventually purchased a home and raised two daughters (Doreen and Dianne) in Willowdale, where Antonia remained for more than 60 years. Ten years after Arnold’s passing in 1972, Antonia married Tony den Houdyker, and the two lived happily together until Tony’s passing in 2004. Antonia’s marriage to Tony resulted in a wonderful blended family, with the den Houdykers becoming a vital part of her life.
elevated oYQAG Antonia was a devoted mother to Doreen and Dianne (Craig, decreased); loving stepmother to Mary (Harold), Joanne (Brian), Shirley, and Ron (Donna); proud Oma to Cameron (Andrea), Tyler, Reid, Drew, Kendra, Averie, Tanya (Bob), Katrina, Marc, Tiahn, and Tahla; ‘great-Oma’ to Harrison, Clark, Brayden, and Riley; and a beloved sister to Wim (deceased), Jan (deceased), Hanni (deceased), Miep, Theo (deceased), Pauline, and Cees.
elevated oYQAG Antonia was an inspiration to all and a courageous woman of faith. We are consoled with the knowledge that Antonia is rejoicing in the presence of her heavenly Father.

The many sweet memories of my beloved aunt Tonie will be a consolation. We shared so many stories and many laughs. I will so miss my long phone conversations with her. I no longer will hear her pick up the phone with ” I’m still alive!” and burst out in laughter.
May her spirit live on in all of us as she was a real gem. Our condolences to all who feel the pain of missing.

Dear Doreen and Dianne,
Your Mom was a lovely lady, a good friend and wonderful neighbour.
She was so very proud of you. Her family was her life, her faith was her strength.
God bless her.
Dear Doreen, Dianne and other familymembers,
From my brother Nol I heard that aunt Ton passed away at a very respectable age.
Thanks to her hospitality and generosity I was able to spend my holidays with her in 1977.
I wish you all a lot of strength with this great loss.
My sincere condolences.
Beste lieve familie, allereerst onze oprechte condoleances.
Dear dear family, first of all, our sincere condolences. I met Aunt Ton a few times as a small child and remember her as a sweet woman with a beautiful positive appearance! I was named after her first husband, Uncle Nol. My parents (Jaap and Bep Dijkers) always spoke about them with great respect and appreciation. We wish you strength in your farewell and are thinking of you. With love. Nol and Hannie Dijkers
