It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Antonio Gasbarre. God called onto Antonio on Saturday, February 11, 2023 and he passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 91 years, with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Lucia, Loving father of Dana (John), Julio (Silvia), Piera (Frank) and Paola (Roberto). Adored grandfather of Jordana (Jason), Anthony, Ilana, Bianca, Daniel, Claudio, Alyssa, Adriano, Marco and Massimo. Cherished great grandfather of Rocco. Antonio will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all his extended family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Caro zio Tony. Quanti giorni in allegria ricordiamo insieme a te, quando tornavi in visita in Italia. Ci sono rimasti impresse nella memoria le tue barzellette raccontate con maestria e i tuoi brevi pochi minuti di riposino, appoggiato su una mano, che erano sufficienti a ridarti energia. Non si riusciva a credere come ti bastasse così poco per riposarti. In fondo l’Italia non era più per te, la associavi alla miseria, mentre il Canada ti ha dato opportunità e prosperità. Ma i sapori e i paesaggi italiani erano rimasti comunque nel tuo cuore. Ci lasci un ricordo legato al buon umore e al saper vivere. Cara Lucia, cari Dana, Julio, Piera e Paola, vi abbracciamo tutti con tanto affetto. Siete una bella famiglia, numerosa e unita, avete dato a zio Tony tante soddisfazioni e saprete celebrarlo con la vostra vita e con il vostro affetto ovunque egli sia, lassù.
