Surrounded by love, Antonio “Tony” Damiani peacefully passed away on October 9, 2025 – the same day he and his beloved wife, Jayne, marked their 43rd wedding anniversary.
elevated Njeh8 Antonio faced a 17-year battle with cancer, meeting every challenge with remarkable courage, strength, and enduring love for his family. He built a life centered around family, hard work, and generosity. Known for his sharp mind and gift for solving any problem that came his way, he approached every dilemma with both practical solutions and a heart full of love.
elevated Njeh8 Antonio was a loving father to his three daughters: Michelle (Mike Moorcroft), Christina (James Redpath), Teresa (Stacey) Damiani (Tim Vamplew). Proud Nonno to his beautiful grandchildren: Tyler, Emily, Weston, Maximus, Lucas, and Bennett. Dear brother of Julia (Paul Mason) and Maria. “The Number One Son” of the late Ondina and Luciano Damiani.

Tony was a good friend and will be sorely missed. He endured a lot in his final years, but I never knew him to complain. He was a model of dignity throughout his suffering, cheerful and optimistic to the end. He was an inspiration to me and will not soon be forgotten.
Tony and I re-connected 8-yrs ago at a Neil McNeil class of ‘76 reunion. We shared a passion for motorcycles and enjoyed many rides together. Jayne always helped with his pre-ride preparation. We always joked that Tony was ‘high-maintenance’… he agreed. She was clearly his rock. Jayne and the girls fortified him during his epic 17-yr battle with cancer. Tony was a true fighter, with a ‘support team’ second to none! Rest now my friend!
I’m so terribly sorry for your loss. He was a good friend and a great person, so proud of his loving family, Jayne, his girls and grandkids. Tony will be missed and never forgotten. The love in all your hearts will always remain.
I remember running back to school from lunch with Tony so we wouldn’t be late for class. Tony was always full of life and fun. Very sorry for loss.
Like all of us who knew Tony, we are all saddened at the news of his passing
Of course, I knew Tony at school, but I don’t think we shared many classes together.
I remember him best, taking the same bus, the Bellamy 9 home from school.
But let’s fast forward to one of the alumni Neil summer barbecues. I had not seen Tony in a long time, so I walked over to have polite conversation.
He seemed very happy to see me.
He went on to ask if I had done the things I wanted to do in business? Did I work with my father?
I was very surprised of course. I didn’t remember telling him my plans.
But it was not so much about me as it was that he remembered with a smile, one of our conversations on the bus home.
It’s those small moments we need to remember about the times we spent together.
On that Neil Barbaque , Tony provided one of those moments.
My uncle Tony was the best additions to our family. But I don’t really have memories of my family before him. He really was so wonderful to me and i thoroughly enjoyed every conversation with him. He was the best. I will miss him. I am praying for you, Jayne and girls! I wish I could be there with you!

I became pretty good friends with Tony, as this was an easy thing to do. He was a easy going friendly guy. We attended Bike shows and spent many hours at each others houses talking and enjoying a beer or two…Tony was an interesting person to talk to as he was always well informed and a good conversationalist. I will miss exchanging texts with him planning our next get together… As we lived close to each other I would often just stop in or ” walk down ” and it was never just a hello.. always ended up a visit. I am going to miss you buddy! Tony always spoke very proudly of his family and was always looking forward to spending time with his grandkids. Sincere condolences to family.

P.Trevor here but you may remember me as Shaft from our annual Hoolie at Neil.
Wow we are really going to miss you sir!
It was so good to see you at one of the bigger fests down on the Danforth. I had no idea you were struggling with health issues at the time. You looked like you had just walked out of the old cafeteria after a chips and gravy lunch or a lively game of euchre. You were always a good partner btw.
Tony you were a very special man. You made an impact on all of us in the Class of 76. We have discussed that your transition has caused many of us to think about how we should live our remaining time.
You have also been a role model for us who have some form of critical illness like cancer. Throughout your time on this ball of dirt, you have continuously exhibited impressive faith, ubiquitous kindness and gentle discipline. I am proud to call you “friend”.
As one great teacher once said “people may forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”
Merci brother for how good you made us all feel.
Dear Jayne-
I have you and your daughters in my heart during this very difficult time. May you find comfort with the knowledge that Tony has returned home to Christ welcomed by the loving arms of our Holy Mother Mary where there is no pain or suffering. He will always love you, the girls and his grand-babies from heaven as he did on this earth.

Tony was such a wonderful person. I curled with him at Tam Heather Curling Club & we both played bridge there with different partners. I last spoke with him a couple of years ago at a funeral & it was catch up time. He was a fighter with the cancer. Gone in Peace.
