On Aug 20, 2024, in his 90th year, Armando passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
elevated QD5B5 Armando was born on Oct 22, 1933 in the town of Rocca San Giovanni, Italy to the late Letizia and Tommaso D’Amario, where he grew up with his siblings, Linda (the late John), Noreen (the late Nick), the late Ercole (Franca), Louie and Mafalda (Elio).
elevated QD5B5 At the age of 14, he travelled with his father to Canada to forge a new life. He worked in the construction industry, earning a living to help his dad save enough money to bring the rest of their family to Canada. Through sheer determination, faith and hard work he helped build the foundation for their new life.
elevated QD5B5 When he was 24 years of age, he took a leap of faith to become an entrepreneur, running a successful business in the sewer & watermain industry.
elevated QD5B5 One year later he met and married the love of his life Esterina DiCarlo; she was his best friend, partner and stylist. Together they raised 3 daughters Letizia (the late Joe), Anita and Nadia (George). Through 66 years of marriage filled with love, commitment, and sacrifice, they persevered; always together, unified by an unbreakable bond.
elevated QD5B5 He was a proud grandfather to Francesco (Christine), Stephanie (Lucas) and Christopher (Tia).
elevated QD5B5 He took great pride in the 2 family homes he built.
elevated QD5B5 He enjoyed tending to his garden, building things, driving, and he loved to dance. He never left the house unless his hair was just so, adding a dash of cologne, wearing a vest or a hat. He was the quietest person at the dinner table but when he had something to say it made an impact.
elevated QD5B5 He was a gentle man, kind, good natured, affectionate, honest, trustworthy, and respectful. Always at the ready to help. He had a contagious smile. You could rely on him.
elevated QD5B5 In his later years, his sense of humour became more pronounced and would leave you with a smile; he was cheeky, and would give you a wink; his strong will became ever more evident.
elevated QD5B5 Throughout his 90 years he left an indelible mark on his families’ life, and the lives of everyone he met. His legacy will live on.
elevated QD5B5 We would like to sincerely thank all who helped care for him in the latter part of his life and everyone who shared messages of support and condolences.

We lost the sweetest person you could ever meet. Always ready with a smile and a kind word to share. I particularly remember the annual D’Amario family picnics. He worked hard to make them perfect for everyone to gather and enjoy. He loved those family moments. I hope all those loving memories of togetherness will sustain the whole family at this difficult time. My deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Esterina, Letizia, Anita, Nadia and the entire D’Amario family.

Dear D’Mario family
I am saddened to hear of Armand’s passing.
I have fond memories of when Armand, Zio Tommasso and Noreen came from Italy. My parents welcomed them warmly into our house on Lyons Avenue. I can remember the good times we had, even though I was young.
Armand was a good cousin even though we didn’t see him much.

So sad to read about Armand’s passing. I have very fond memories going way back to Bridgeland Ave. My sincerest condolences to all.
My dearest brother. You were the third in the line of six children and I am the sixth. Even thought we were many years apart our love for each other was never closer. I will miss your hugs, your kisses and calling me you baby sister. You are now with mom, daddy, Ercole and Linda and the others that have left us and they will embrace you as you arrive. I love you dear bother and will miss your “look who it is my baby sister”. My heart is happy that you are no longer in n pain but it’s broken because I will not see you anymore. Until we are together again please always feel my arms around you💕🙏🥰

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Uncle Armand. He was a wonderful man with a special smile that lit up a room, just like his mom! Well respected, always classy and overall, we cherish the family moments that we all enjoyed together … memories are life’s greatest gift! Sorry that we are unable to attend as we are currently out of town, but sending our heartfelt condolences to all of you during this very difficult time. Uncle Armand will be greatly missed. Zio Armando may have been my dad Rocco’s 1st cousin but he was someone who touched my heart and spirit with his bright smile, gentle eyes and kind words whenever he greeted me. I have many fond memories of him as a child and many as an adult of his love for family and his ability to always look classy, polished and sophisticated even in his work attire when we’d bump into each other getting coffee at Tim Hortons. He always made time for extended family as well with a quick chat and catch up no matter where we were. He will be dearly missed.🙏
