Obituary
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Arturo Villa on March 23, 2026.
elevated eHkBO Beloved husband of Anna Villa, whom he adored. Born in Balsorano, L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the son of Francesco and Silvia Villa.
elevated eHkBO Loving father of Frank and Elaine, Silvia and Danny, Lucy and William, Jimmy and Louie, and Eddy and Tracy. Cherished grandfather of Joey (Joana), Vinny, Jimmy (Mara), Anna, Tyler, Dante (Donya), Vanessa (Torin), Arthur, Sara (Keegan), Taylor (Dan), Lauren, Sammy (Colton), and Danielle.
elevated eHkBO Art will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His love for his family, friends, and his wife’s cooking cannot be overstated. He loved having people around him. His work ethic and sharp, dry humour will be greatly missed.
elevated eHkBO He was a man of his word-truly respectful, honourable, and widely respected. In business, his handshake was known as a certified cheque. They don’t make men like him anymore. He was immensely proud of “Art Villa and Sons Limited,” the trucking business he built.
elevated eHkBO While his family is heartbroken by his passing, they feel truly blessed to have lived under his kind, loving, and protective guidance. He was our rock-always there for us. We were always proud to introduce our father to our friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, strength, sense of humour, and unwavering devotion to his family.
elevated eHkBO Our pride in our Italian roots comes from witnessing our father’s courage, sacrifices, and the heritage he passed on to us. At 17 years old, he made the journey from Italy aboard the ship Conte Bianca Manno, arriving in Halifax on December 2, 1955. From there, he travelled by train to Toronto, where he settled, married, and raised five children and thirteen grandchildren.
elevated eHkBO His 67 years of marriage showed us what true love looks like. He taught-sometimes insisted on-our heritage through Italian lessons every Friday night around the dinner table. In hindsight, it was also his way of keeping us together as a family, and for that, we are forever grateful.
elevated eHkBO Thank you, father, husband, Nonno, brother, and friend, for a wonderful life filled with love, joy, forgiveness and cherished memories.

It’s hard not to be sad, but I say” be happy that it happened”. Be happy that we had the pleasure of you as a a father. Fun, loving, and a rock of a man I could count on, any time. I still remember what you wrote in my wedding card over 32 years ago: “if you ever have a problems, tell me about it”. I have no problems dad. Never did, with you behind me.
Dad, I love you and will do my best to make you proud. We got ma, don’t worry. Thank you for everything.
My condolences to all of my uncle Arthur’s family. Whenever he was around, you could be sure of laughter. He always made you feel welcomed.

One of the best – gallant, strong, loving. A life well lived, a man well loved. Sending our condolences and prayers.
It’s with great sadness that I write a few words to a man whom I’ve know since the age of 16. Arturo, as he was referred to by my late dad was a selfless person who was Always willing to Help Day Or Night! As a young man, I can recall countless weekends watching all these men, in the trucking industry, fixing their trucks and listening to their humour –something I will Never Forget. The stories and the laughter and making fun of each other was like Saturday Night Live without the famous names. My late father who Loved Arturo would Always say, our lives are built around memories and Special people. Arturo was one them!

I was blessed to have a father-in-law who was such a strong, loving, and deeply respected man. You welcomed me into your life and into your beautiful family with open arms, and for that I will always be grateful.
Thank you for raising such an incredible son—he is truly a reflection of you in every way, and that is one of your greatest legacies.
It has been an honor to know you, to love you, and to be part of your family. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Thank you.

Mr. Villa was truly one of the nicest men I have ever known. Always thought of him as my uncle. I am sure our family that has gone before, was there to welcome him into Heaven.

The Villa home was always one I loved going as a teenager – it was always such a positive atmosphere and everyone was welcome… I think Mr Villa genuinely enjoyed everyone’s company – no matter who you were. In fact, it was Mr Villa that gave me my very first shot of Sambuca – great memories.
