With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nonna, Bisnonna, sister, aunt and friend, Aurora (Montisano) Barbuto at the blessed age of 93, after a long battle with Parkinson’s, Dementia and COPD, on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Cortellucci Hospice Vaughan, surrounded by the family she loved so much.
Aurora was the devoted mother of Teresa (Attilio) and Sonia (Rocco). She was a proud and loving Nonna to Paola (Geoff), Francesco (Andrea), and Luca, and an adored Bisnonna to Leo, Julian, and Alexander and a devoted sister to Ersilia. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vito, her father Vito, her mother Francesca and her beloved sisters, Emma, Tina and Amelia and we take comfort in knowing that they are now reunited.
Aurora was the heart and matriarch of our family. Aurora was an incredibly hardworking woman who dedicated her life to her family. She faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, including her battle with breast cancer. Through it all, she continued to show the strength and resilience that defined her.
Her faith was an essential and enduring part of who she was. Aurora had a deep and abiding relationship with God and a profound connection to her church. Her faith gave her comfort, strength, and peace throughout her life, and it remained a source of grace and hope until the very end.
May she rest peacefully in the loving arms of God welcomed by St. Peter and all the angels and saints.
May perpetual light shine upon her, and may she rest in eternal peace.
