elevated zOR9g Avelina Guerrero, 93, of Mississauga, Ontario, surrounded by family died peacefully in her sleep on December 6, 2018, at Cooksville Care Centre, Mississauga. Born April 13th, 1925 in Batangas City, Batangas, Philippines.  Avelina is predeceased by her parents Maria and Eulalio Torio siblings Pacifico Bagon Torio and Bienuinido Bagon Torio her late husband of 49 years, Olimpio Guepe Guerrero of Mississauga, Ontario and daughter Ma. Corazon Cantos of Scarborough, Ontario.Avelina is survived by her siblings Gloria Bagon Torio and Conrado Bagon Torio; her children Rosauro Torio Guerrero, Marivic Sophia Roque, Reynaldo Torio Guerrero and Ramon Torio Guerrero; her 16 grandchildren, Rommel Guerrero, Jerome Cantos, Jeffery Cantos, Jasmine Cantos, Ryan Guerrero, Rachel Guerrero, Shelley Roque-Lichtig, Meaghan Guerrero-Manuet, Miles Roque, Tiffany Guerrero, Simone Roque, Michelle Guerrero, Danielle Guerrero, Caleb Guerrero, Richard Guerrero, Nathaniel Guerrero, Gabrielle Guerrero; her 8 great grandchildren Mykaila Cantos, Aedyn Cantos, Teyah Cantos, Judah Roque-Lichtig, Coraline Abcede, Venancia Roque-Lichtig, Jenavieve, Guerrero-Pajaro and Jackson Guerrero; her in-laws Elena Guerrero, Santos Roque, Judith Guerrero, Christine Cantos, Andrew Lichtig, Edwin Manuet, Ryan Abcede, Daniel Geiger and Angelo Capunitan. Avelina fondly referred to as Mommy and Lola, graduated from The Philippine Women’s University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters of Nursing.  Avelina went on to teach at Golden Gate College in Batangas City, Batangas.  In 1972 Avelina along with her family moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada then in 1978 they moved to México City, México.  1981 through 1983 Avelina and Olimpio lived in Batangas then moved back to Toronto where they lived the remainder of their lives.  In Toronto, Avelina became Lola to the many children she watched.  Her enthusiasm for a good piece of chicharron while she watched wrestling will be greatly missed.
