It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Barbara Mialkowski on April 29, 2025 at the age of 56. Barbara suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm and passed away in hospital surrounded by family.
Barbara truly celebrated and loved life. Her joyful laugh, her boundless positive energy and warmth will be forever missed. If you knew Barbara you knew love, as she was the most loving, thoughtful and giving person.
Of everything she loved, she loved her son, Daniel, the most. Daniel was Barbara’s pride and joy. Barbara will be dearly missed by Daniel, by her family, church community, work colleagues, clients and many many friends.
A mass will be held for Barbara at St. Maximilian Kolbe on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 12 noon, followed by a burial at Assumption Catholic Cemetery and gathering at St. Maximilian Kolbe afterwards.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to contribute to Daniel’s College Fund
Rest in peace Barbara. Your positive energy and smile will be missed.
A disciple of Christ with full of joy and service! She was a person who shared and cared for others! May the Lord grant you eternal peace and happiness! Amen
Heartfelt condolences to the family on your tragic loss. May Barbara’s soul RIP!
I am so sorry for your loss. Even though I didn’t know Barbara personally this has really saddened me and the loss of a great mother and co worker. Sending all my condolences thoughts and prayers ❤️🙏
Deepest condolences ❤❤
My deepest condolences to Barbara’s family. When I heard of her passing this morning I was truly heartbroken. There are very few people in this world like Barbara. One of the most loyal, generous, kindest people I have ever known. I met her at a courses we were taking when I was just a teenager. From that day she always had my back. Anytime I was afraid to do anything I always had her encouraging me. When I said I couldn’t do something she always told me I could. Everyone she met she always made them feel special. There was never an occasion she missed. She’d remember the smallest detail about something you said and at some point surprise you with something. Her pride and joy was Daniel. She loved to talk about him. She was such a proud mom. She will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Barbara truly made the world a better place. I think your description of her really sums it up with “ If you knew Barbara you knew love, as she was the most loving, thoughtful and giving person.” she really was, and will be dearly missed. The Pliskat family sends their deepest sympathies to Daniel and the rest of her family.
I’m so sorry to hear of your passing Barbara— never Barbie. I know you hated that nickname. You were one of the kindest people that I have ever met. When a client refused to work with me during my pregnancy and rebooked with you— you stuff a pillow in your shirt in solidarity. Protective. Funny. Kind. Incredibly loving. Every time I turned around you were looking for ways to show the people around you how much you loved them. Remembering birthdays, life events, celebrating other people, checking on people when life got hard, volunteering at school whenever you could just to spend more time with your son— your best and brightest love.
Daniel, if you are reading this— you are her pride and joy. You are her heart, her love and her motivation. Speak to her whenever you need her. She’ll take a day off from being an angel, to be with you in whatever way she can. She will watch over you, and all that you love, always.
Living on in our hearts forever 💕 rest in paradise
Barbara, there was no greater love than the love you had for “my Daniel”. I am heart broken you have left us, but your kindness, selfless and loving acts will FOREVER be cherished by me!!!
My deepest condolences to Barbara’s family.
Barbara was more than just my massage therapist, she was a friend too. Every appointment I had with Barbara she treated me with love and kindness. We would chat the whole time about our lives and families. Her stories of Daniel showed her deep love and pride for him.
I will always remember Barbara to be a loving and thoughtful mother to her son Daniel.
Her love will never be forgotten. Rest in peace Barbara.
Barbara- (Basia) Sweet like the tiramisu you made , and you made it with love.
I expect to see you every morning running into the salon with a smile with a cheerful “ Good morning everyone , what a beautiful day”
Your last day with us was a lesson to cherish every moment and see the glass always half full not empty.
I pray that Your Daniel , your pride and joy, your everything will do the same in his life journey.

I know you will never be forgotten .

Condolences to Barbara’s family, especially to her Daniel. I worked with Barbara and was by her side during the brain aneurism. I will never forget it and I will especially never forget her. I may not have known her long but it didn’t take much for a beautiful person like Barbara to make a staple on you. I will never stop wearing pink / or her favourite pink lipstick to forever honour
her. I will see your spirit at Polish Fest with your spa girls in September ♥️. May you rest your soul and do angelic work in heaven by simply being the beautiful Barbara you are. Love ya girly xo
It’s difficult to write through tears…
Barbara/Basia is always in my heart.
“People stay in our loving memories. They are not forgotten”, she told me when I lost my mom-in-law. Barbara, you will never be forgotten. The way you touched everybody’s lives is unforgettable.
Girl, you are on on another big mission! Whatever you do and wherever you are now I’m rooting for you like you’ve always been rooting for others.
Daniel and the family, we are here for you.🫂💕
I cannot think of anyone more upbeat and full of life than Barbara. She had a memory like no other … remembering everyone’s birthday every year without fail – even those she didn’t interact with regularly! She truly was the sweetest person.
Above all, she absolutely adored her son Daniel – he was her whole world. She was so incredibly proud of each and every one of his achievements, as well as those of her nieces whom she also raved about. I will miss those stories, she told them with such pride.
She drove our son Robbie to school almost every day … when we asked to reciprocate it was rare she accepted other than the ‘late start’ days. Such a giving, generous person. She was always excited when it snowed, loved the sunshine, and most of all loved helping others. Barbara was truly an incredible person who will not be forgotten. She will be dearly missed.
Our dear Barbara…you were such a spark of life at the Spa. Always smiling, always had only nice things to say, always remembered everyone’s birthdays, always showered us with your amazing cakes, treats and thoughtful gifts, always had so much to say!
You were always there for everyone, involved in everything and so full of life.
I will miss you my friend, my colleague. I will miss you running into work just on time and making us laugh. I will miss you saying “my Daniel”. I will miss your texts with lots of emojis and best wishes.
I know God just gained a very organized Angel…I will never forget you dear Barbara…
For Her Light – In Memory of a Beautiful Soul
She walked in grace, with healing hands,
A heart so wide, like ocean sands.
An RMT, she soothed each pain,
And gave us peace again, again.
Her laughter warmed the darkest day,
She knew just what and how to say.
A baker’s joy, with gentle touch,
She made our birthdays mean so much.
She lived her faith, she gave her time,
In every church and charity line.
And on the road, in prayerful pace,
She found her peace, her sacred space.
But most of all, one love stood high—
Her Daniel was her brightest sky.
A mother’s pride, her world entire,
Her voice would glow, her soul catch fire.
At fifty, she felt strong and new,
She glowed with life, in all she’d do.
She cared, she laughed, she helped, she gave,
She left behind the love she made.
The day she left, the world stood still,
A sudden ache no time could fill.
One moment here, the next—she’s flown,
A whisper now, a softer tone.
Too young, too soon, a tragic turn,
And now our hearts must ache and yearn.
Yet in our tears, her light remains,
In every hug, in healed pains.
We’ll think of her on birthdays bright,
And every pilgrimage in sight.
She lived with purpose, love, and grace,
And left the world a warmer place.
