It is with profound sadness that the Komes family announces the passing of Branko, on August 21, 2026, at the age of 89.

elevated 70IdX Branko was predeceased by his brother, Ivan Komes, and his sisters, Ruza Dabo and Nada Komes.

elevated 70IdX He was the devoted husband of 58 years to Marija Komes and a cherished father to Stephen, Vanessa, Alana, and Christopher. He was a loving grandfather to Roman Patrk, Olivia Patrk, Alexa Meldazy and Anika Meldazy.

elevated 70IdX He will be deeply missed by his son-in-law, Andrew Meldazy; brother-in-law, Tomislav Mrsic and his wife, Mary; sister-in-law, Kathy Sercl and her husband, Frank Sercl; as well as his niece, Linda Sercl, and nephews, John Mrsic, Edward Sercl, and Tommy Mrsic.

elevated 70IdX He will also be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew, their families, and many other relatives in Croatia.

elevated 70IdX Branko came to Canada at the age of 19 in 1956. Years later, he established a successful company specializing in custom-built electrical panels, a testament to his hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit. Outside of work, Branko’s favourite pastime was fishing which he enjoyed with his friends and sons.

elevated 70IdX The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nadia Salvo from Dorothy Ley Hospice Community Physicians; Nataliya Lishchenko, Palliative Care Coordinator with Ontario Health atHome; the many nurses and PSWs from Bayshore for their immense care, guidance and support throughout Branko’s illness with COPD. Their compassion and dedication provided tremendous comfort to Branko and his family during this difficult time.

elevated 70IdX Branko will be remembered for the wonderful life that he built, the family he cherished, and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
