elevated nOAH1 Carol passed away peacefully in her eighty-first year with family by her side in the early morning of Monday, August 10, 2026 at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. She is survived by her son, Stephen, his wife Diane and her two beloved grandchildren, Jason Hoon and Clare Faith. She is reunited in eternal life with her beloved son, Troy Anthony, and her mother, Lucille.
elevated nOAH1 Carol grew up in Georgetown, Guyana in a large and loving family. She was deeply loved by her siblings, Jonane (deceased), Brian (Sandra), Elizabeth (Shaheed, deceased), Peter (Laura), Terence (Lauren, deceased), Andrew, Michael (deceased), Mark (Luz) and Ridwan (Bonnie) as well as many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Donna (Desmond, deceased) and niece Judy-Ann and great-nephew, Matthew. She immigrated to Canada in 1968 with her then husband, Anthony (married 46 years) and her baby son, Stephen. She built a wonderful and fulfilling life for her family, first in Montreal then moving to the Toronto area in 1979. She worked hard to juggle her job and family, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of her two sons, Stephen and Troy.
elevated nOAH1 Carol will be remembered as a deeply loving, generous and devoted mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, aunt and friend.
elevated nOAH1 She was a very positive, warm, kind and sunny person who truly cared for the happiness and well-being of those around her. She loved spending time with her family, cooking and hosting meals and especially making her grandchildren’s favourite foods and sweet treats. She loved gardening and flowers. She was always dressed in bright colours with some sparkle. She loved music and always had her favourite oldie hits playing in her home. She recently celebrated her 80th birthday at a party surrounded by her extended family and was glowing with joy.
elevated nOAH1 She was a faithful Catholic. Although she faced many health and life adversities, her faith and inner strength helped her to handle them with a positive and courageous attitude. Regardless of how she was feeling, her first thoughts were always of the well-being of her grandchildren and loved ones.
elevated nOAH1 She will be deeply missed and cherished as a wonderful person whose passing has left a huge hole in our lives.
