elevated sOV5z It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Cassilda (Cassy) Eletina Fernandes (D’Souza) on Monday, November 15, 2021 at the age of 99. Cassy passed away peacefully, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late George Fernandes. Loving mother of Victor (Gloria), Ida D’Souza (Xavier), Dr. Bernie, Professor Emeritus (U of T) and Martha Marcano. Doting grandmother of Patricia, Sandra and Julia. Cassy was predeceased by her sisters Angela (Liban), Lourdine (Lulu) and Leocardia (Baby). She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all her extended family and friends in Canada, India, Tanzania, U.K., Australia and the U.S.A.
elevated sOV5z Cassy was a participant in the activities of the Westend Seniors and the Active Adult Centre, Mississauga. An adventurous traveller, creative knitter and crocheter, line dancer, and prize winning truque player, she also found great pleasure in making jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles and other challenging puzzles.

I remember well during my childhood when sweet smiling grandma Cassy always came to visit us when she visited India with yummy butter Danish cookies and chocolate .When I got older and visited Canada on holiday I had the beautiful opportunity to spend a lot of time with her and we had so much fun traveling in the buses , exploring and visiting friends..she cooked yummy fish curry and we chatted so much, heard all her stories and now in 2019 was blessed to see her yet again, with my family, just before COVID, though there were some visa issues initially.. Rest In Peace sweet Grandma.. You were one of a kind! ❤️
