elevated wIYXi October 5, 1930 –  October 30, 2021

elevated wIYXi It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Chee Louis Ho on October 30, 2021, at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of 59 years to Shuk Ling. He was a caring and devoted father to Amy Hatfield (Derrick), Joseph Ho, Ivy Ho (Shawn), and a loving and doting grandfather to Leo.

elevated wIYXi Born in Canton, China, Chee Louis fled China to Hong Kong as a young teen during the World War II. In Hong Kong, he had a career as a department store manager. In 1967, he moved his young family to Fredericton, New Brunswick, to start a life in a new country. Simply known as Louie to many during his years in Fredericton, he and Shuk Ling ran a successful convenience store for 25 years before retiring to Ontario in 1991.

elevated wIYXi In retirement, he enjoyed travel, painting, drawing, music, singing in a seniors’ choir, and Chinese calligraphy. He was also a dedicated volunteer, giving his time to improving the quality of life of other seniors. He gained volunteer recognition from Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, a certificate presented by the House of Commons recognizing his exemplary efforts on behalf of the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation as the Honourary Director of the Macrobian Club Community Fundraising Committee, and recognition from the Government of Ontario for his outstanding volunteer work at St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Senior’s Centre.

elevated wIYXi Family and friends are invited to the burial on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 2:00 pm, at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet at Holy Cross Funeral Home, located at 211 Langstaff Road E. and then process to the burial with the family.
