elevated 6rrxI Chi Oan “Johnny” Ong was born on March 12, 1935, in Manila, Philippines, and passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, surrounded by family. He began his working life at a hardware store in Binondo, Manila, and later at various cinemas in the Philippines before immigrating to Canada. Johnny eventually settled in Toronto, where he worked in photofinishing and at the YMCA, building a life grounded in hard work, dedication, and care for his family and community.

elevated 6rrxI Johnny was deeply loved and cared for by his devoted wife, Lorgia, to whom he was married for 61 years, and by his son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Delie. He will be fondly remembered by his granddaughters, Jessica, Janie, and Jazlyne, who filled his life with laughter, pride, and warmth. They attended to him every day, preparing his favourite meals of oatmeal, noodles, rice, soup and seafood. They ensured his comfort with patience, tenderness, and devotion.

elevated 6rrxI Johnny was well known in his community for his daily walks, often taking several strolls each day, a simple routine that reflected his quiet discipline and appreciation for life’s small pleasures. He enjoyed watching movies at the theatre, shows at home, and often went to the grocery to pick up ingredients for Lorgia to cook. He lived in a steady, humble way, finding comfort in familiar routines.

elevated 6rrxI May you rest in eternal peace, Daddy and Angkong Johnny. May God be with you. Say hello to everyone in heaven for us. We love you very much.
