elevated oqn1B Obituary
It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce the passing of Christina, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, who brought warmth, song, and laughter into every room she entered.
elevated oqn1B Born in Ireland, Christina carried her Irish spirit, full of music, faith, and humour, wherever life took her. After training as a nurse, she moved to Canada, where she married Charlie, the love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared many years of love, laughter, and song. Christina now joins Charlie in heaven, reunited at last. She will once again see her daughter Anne who waits in heaven for her loving embrace. Her siblings and parents will also rejoice in her arrival. Our loss is heaven’s gain.
elevated oqn1B Christina’s legacy lives on through the lives of those she knew. Her four surviving children and their spouses: Brian (and Deborah), Neil (and Michele), Peter (and Nadia), Helen (and Anthony), her four grandchildren, Sean, Chloe, Conor, and Erin, and her surviving sister Brenda (husband David) in Seattle, keep her memory alive in their hearts. She also leaves behind cherished family and friends both here and in Ireland, where her heart always remained.
elevated oqn1B She began her career as a nurse at St. Michael’s Hospital, caring for others with compassion and dedication. Later, she worked at Confederation Life, where her professionalism and kindness made her beloved by colleagues.
elevated oqn1B Christina was the heartbeat of her family, raising five children, teaching them right from wrong, and providing a loving home filled with laughter, good food, and music. She was a stylish and elegant woman, always perfectly dressed and full of grace. Her beautiful singing voice was a gift she shared generously, performing for years with the choir at Annunciation Church, and often bursting into song at family gatherings just to lift everyone’s spirits.
elevated oqn1B She was a storyteller, a party starter, and a pillar of strength, feisty, funny, and endlessly supportive. Her kitchen was the centre of family life, where she created countless delicious meals. Her Pavlova, Cannelloni, Lasagna, Beef Tenderloin, and her traditional Irish pudding and trifle at Christmas were legendary. Christina hosted every celebration with warmth and care, making each occasion special.
elevated oqn1B A woman of incredible energy and work ethic, Christina managed to balance work, home, and motherhood with love and devotion. She did it all, the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and child-rearing, without ever losing her sparkle or sense of humour.
elevated oqn1B Christina loved travelling back to Ireland, visiting her sisters and the places that shaped her. No matter how far she roamed, her heart always belonged to her Irish roots.
elevated oqn1B With love we will honour and celebrate the memories we enjoy of this special lady and the impact that she had on our lives. We will strive to live our lives the way she would have wanted. To carry ourselves with dignity and to show kindness, generosity and compassion to all. She also would want us all to find joy, fun, laughter and song in each and every day.
elevated oqn1B Christina will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and song, a woman whose laughter filled the air, whose voice graced the choir loft, and whose love continues to echo in the hearts of her family and friends.
elevated oqn1B May the choirs of angels come to greet her, and may she rest now in everlasting peace.

My deepest condolences to Neil and family. 🙏🏽❤️
Our sincerest condolences to you and your family, Helen.
Our prayers are with Neil and family. Rest in peace Christina.
To Neil and family.
Our deepest condolences to you and your family for your loss.
Our deepest condolences to the O’Sullivan family at this devastating moment. Especially to our dear friends Brian and Deborah.
Very sad to hear of Chris’s passing. My sympathy to all the O’Sullivan family, Brian, Neil, Peter and Helen and the extended family. So glad we got to say Hello to Chris and Neil in Kinsale a few years ago and more recently chatting with the cousins about Chris and recalling visits to the house in Ontario -the good food and entertainment. Thinking of you all at this sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a Anam.
Thanks Terry ! (Aunt Mary Dineen (nee O’Sullivan) introduced her brother Charlie to mom. Aunt Mary and mom nursed together in Cork.) I enjoyed visiting with Mary, Tom and family on their farm in Co. Cork.
Thanks Ted and Julie !
Dearest Brian and Deborah, so sorry for your loss, we only just found this message on Joannes phone which is a little neglected of late. Your Mom was a remarkable woman and mother we know will be truly missed. So sad to have missed her sendoff and your birthday as well. God’s love to you both.
I had the privilege of dealing with Christina for twenty years. She was always a most gracious, warm hearted person. Once I used my laptop to show her photos of Kinsale and she was thrilled to be able to see her Irish home. A life well lived and my condolences to her family.
Thanks John, Mom not only benefitted from your investment expertise (after our father passed) but enjoyed your visits and friendship as well. It pleases us when we meet people who ‘got’ mom – her happy heart, her joy and positivity. She will be fondly remembered.
My deepest condolences to Brian, Neil, Peter and Helen from the Barrett family, we have so many fond memories of your mom especially my mom and I’m grateful we were able to visit just a week ago. ❤️
Thanks David, We appreciate your visit and the many times your mom visited mum at Providence. The two of them had a lot of fun together – enjoying lunches, tai-ch, laughter … We appreciate your mom, dad and family very much.
Sad to hear this news.
I watched as a child as George Davis built the cottage you love, with my father Paul to help him. Then as the O’Sullivan clan took over and enjoyed it and now someone new will doubtless start out again. I hope for the entire O’Sullivan family to remember the good times and wish them all the best as they carry on into the future.
Thanks Brian, My dad and the boys replaced the cottage roof some time back and found your dad’s (and Mr. Davis’) signature on the plywood underneath the shingles. We always appreciated you as neighbours and your help with our cottage. Thanks for remembering mom.
My sincere condolences to Brian, Neil, Peter and Helen on the sad passing of Aunty Chrissie. I will always remember her lovely hospitality and grace visiting your home in Toronto as well as her visits to Cork over many years. May Chrissie now enjoy her Eternal home in the company of all her loved ones who have gone before her. Comfort you all in your grief. Regards Catherine O’Sullivan (Coakley)
Thanks Catherine ! We enjoyed your visits. Mom was very social as you know and one of our parents favourite things to do was to connect with friends, family or anyone really from Ireland. They missed Ireland and considered retiring there. Fortunately for us we were able to continue enjoying their company in Canada.
My heartfelt condolences to all family members and friends. The many happy times with Christina will be remembered forever.
Thanks Amabel ! I’m glad you got to meet her and to know her.
Such a warm hearted and loving woman. Our sincere condolences.
Sincere sympathy Brian,Neil Peter and Helen on the sad loss of your dear mom Chris.
She offered us such warm ,welcoming hospitality when we stayed for a visit in the 90’s. I have lovely memories of meeting my Canadian cousins and our trips to Niagara Falls and the Cottage on the lake with Chris ,Charlie and mam and dad.
I’m sure Chris is now joining in song with all her loved ones that have gone before her.
Suaimhneas sioraí di
Thanks Mary, Yes we’d try to make sure visitors saw the falls and visits to the cottage would give people a taste of what Canada was like before settlement – a beautiful country ! Thanks for remembering mom and dad – they were both very fine people and their Irish heritage was part of that.
Thanks Tanya and Ron !
Thanks Tanya, Ron and family !
I would like to send my deepest condolences to Peter Nadia Sean and Chloe. She was a lovely lady.
I would like to send my condolences to Chris’s family. I remembered Christine well as we sang together since the early ’90s with the Annunciation Church choir. She sat either next to me to was one seat removed from me. So I know and remember very well her beautiful singing voice, her lovely dessert she always made for the choir party. She was a lovely lady with a sunny personality. She is such a gift to you and to all who know her. Be assured of her place in Heaven, continuing her singing.
Thanks Angela !
I have great memories of Christmas as a fellow member of the choir at the Annunciation Church since the early 90s and ad iPad Kringle not only her lovely voice, smile, style and beautiful home but also singing with her at Providence Healthcare Centre Healthcare are Centre when I was able to be with her and sing all the old Irish songs. Her face would light up. Sleep well lovely lady.
Thanks Steve !
My sincere sympathies to Brian Neil, Peter and Helen and extended family members on the death of their beloved Chris. As children growing up here in Ireland, we were always fascinated with our Canadian cousins and excited when Uncle Charlie and Chris visited, often with some members of the family. Meeting Chris and Neil in one of her visits to Kinsale and seeing where she lived here was a lovely surprise. A truly lovely lady. May she rest in peace.
Thanks Claire. I believe it was your mom who introduced our mom to Charlie – your mom’s brother. Without that – where would we all be ?
I had the pleasure and joy of singing with Christina at the Annunciation choir for many years. She was a warm and generous lady an often shared her lively home with us for extra practices and parties. She gave me a beautiful warm and unique hand made scarf to me which I wear in the winter with a dressy coat and a gorgeous hand crafted ceramic pot, both made by her daughter for me. Christina was joyfully loving, patient and kind, a saint in action, and was loved by all. We will miss her and will continue to think of her so fondly.
Thanks for remembering our mother !
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Chris from Annunciation. I was a member of the choir for a few years. Chris was lovely and generous with her time and her home. She will be sadly missed.
Thanks Maureen !
My deepest sympathy to Brian, Neil, Peter, Helen and the extended
O Sullivan family on the sad loss of your beautiful mother.
I have fond memories of Chris and Charlie visiting us in Cork on many occasions in the 60’s when we were children.
We also had the pleasure of meeting them during their visit to the West of Ireland in 1989. They stayed with us for a couple of days here in Galway. Chris was a charming, gracious and warm hearted lady and we spent hours chatting, laughing and catching up on family and life in general. She will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace Aunty Chrissie
Thanks Annette !
My sincere condolences to all who loved Christina.

Thanks Mike and Christine ! You saved the day Mike – putting out a fire when a candle tipped over onto mom’s napkin – right guy in the right place at the right time. You are now part of our family history ! Everyone who met mom was impressed by her friendliness, positivity and charm, Thanks for remembering her ! There will be Celtic Music at the reception (Fionn McCool’s in Richmond Hill – 3:30 – 6:30). Come by if you can and would like to. There will be food and libations – smiles and happy memories !
I had the pleasure of working with Christina these last few years at Providence.
I will always remember her singing to me and the other residents during our programs and her reciting poems to me while I called Bingo.
But especially I will remember the smile of hers. Truly a lovely soul.
She was loved and is missed by all of us here at Providence, staff and residents.
All the best to the O’Sullivan family.
Thanks David ! It was always fun to visit mom when you had your activities going. The parrot is a delight ! We appreciate your kindness towards mom and your efforts to encourage her to participate in the activities which she enjoyed. Your kindness towards our senior citizens does not go unnoticed.

Thanks Eileen ! My mum and dad always enjoyed connecting with friends and family from Ireland. It warmed their hearts.
My deepest sympathy to Chris’s family at this sad time.
Chris had a beautiful voice and a warm, welcoming smile.
I met Chris when I joined the Annunciation Choir in 2008 and we had several years of singing together. She was
always beautifully dressed and she made the best Pavlova.
What a long wonderful life she had. Rest in peace Chris and
sing with the Angels.
Thanks Maureen. And thanks for coming to the visitation and funeral. It was great to see some folks there from mom’s church choir. It was one of her favourite activities.

We cherish the days we spent with Chrissie & Neil when they were home- special moments that now mean so much.
Christie had the kind of Irish spirit that lit up the room; warm & welcoming. May the love she showed and the stories & memories she leaves behind bring you comfort.
Keeping you in our prayers today as you lay Chrissie to rest. May the light of heaven guide her way.
