To the Deir Mother and Family
Mama Deir you gave a gift to humanity, raising an amazing human being who touched many with his gentleness, discretion and wisdom, a smile that open hearts.
The mystery of one’s mission in this life and when we are done with it, his was efficient and accomplished before the rest of us.
Trust he is fully flourishing where he is now.
Farewell brother
I am deeply saddened by Deir’s death, especially the manner in which it occurred. My deepest condolences.
Chris was an amazing human being. Calm, selfless, wise, and always willing to listen. There was so much comfort in his stoicism, even if it was just a conversation over a glass of whiskey.
My deepest condolences to the Deir family, Chris will not only be deeply missed but will live on in our hearts and minds forever.

My deepest condolences to the Deir family. May god give the family peace and strength during this difficult loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I had the wonderful privilege of knowing Chris as a learner and graduate of a coaching certificate program. Chris’ presence and personhood touched me and the other learners in a deep and memorable way! His authenticity, passion and heart felt desire to partner with others in meaningful connection, honoring the unique soul of each individual, was a gift. I am heartbroken to learn of his passing. I am holding his family, friends and community in my thoughts and prayers.
I’m so sorry to hear this news. I was a member of the Coaching Certificate class with Chris. He was such a wonderful person with many deep insights into life. He contributed to our discussions and practice sessions from a very profound, compassionate and kind level. I’m so grateful to have worked with him, even if only online. Heartfelt condolences to the family. This must be very hard to bear.
My heart is heavy realizing it is our Christopher who is now with Jesus. I pray for God to comfort all who are grieving. And Mrs. Deir, through this unbearable time, may you be surrounded with peace. Christopher blessed us throughout all the stages of his life.
Chris and I worked together many years ago. I always enjoyed spending time with him outside of work. I’ve been inspired by his life’s path and sadden to see his journey cut short.
My deepest condolences.
To the Deir family, my condolences. I saw this on the news was shocked. I went to college with Chris and although we weren’t friends, more just classmates/acquaintances, I remember him being respectful, friendly, witty and extremely smart. He was just a nice person. I am so sorry for your loss.
I knew Chris from university. He is someone who will always be in my memories – when you had a conversation with Chris, you knew you were connecting with someone special. He had a wonderful outlook on life and marched to the beat of his own drum. I am truly saddened to see this light go out but know that Chris’ spirit will continue to reverberate forever in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him. Deepest condolences to the Deir family.
A colleague passed this on to me, asking if this was our Chris. I had missed the story when it was first reported. Reading it, sadly, yes, it was our Chris.
Chris was one of the first students I taught at George Brown College. He seemed not sure of himself at first, but as he progressed through the courses he got stronger and stronger.
After college, and his Master’s degree, he asked me if he should leave his secure bank job to take an opportunity with a start-up. My advice was that if he had that entrepreneurial bent, then now was the time.
Smart, curious, Chris had so many places yet to go. It is a terrible tragedy. My deep condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
Nawal, David, Pierre & family – I continue to think of you all every day. And I remember Chris, with so much gratitude for my time and experiences with him. I imagine grief and anger will be with you for a long time, but I hope you also have peace in your moments of remembrance of him & the light he was in your lives. You are carried in heart.
