Clara Pociana Gomes, beloved wife of the late Edmund Argericus Gomes (2001), and affectionately known as ‘Nana’, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday May 2, 2019 at the age of 88. Cherished mother of Vera (Francis), Philomena (Attlee) and Anthony(Christine). Devoted grandmother “Nana” of Ryan (Kadira), Rachel (Jeremy), Avril (Burton), Merlin, Farah, Joseph, Alexander and Aidan . Beloved great grandmother “Mae” to Aryana (Ryan), Emmanuel, Emilia and Isabella (Avril). Clara will be sadly missed by many relatives and friends, she will be forever remembered for her devotion to Jesus and her family, her thoughtfulness and strong will. Thank you for the flowers sent for Aunty Clara’s funeral. They were lovely. The ceremony went smoothly and Fr Felix gave beautiful sermon at mass. Thank all the family for their dedication and prayers.

Today is a difficult day for those of us gathered. We say goodbye to our Nana. A soft spoken kind lady who always kept us well fed and best known for her Goan sweets. You were so instrumental in all of your grandkids formative years. From changing our nappies to rocking us to sleep. Those memories will always burn strong for us so Thank you for that blessing. You lived a full and amazing 88 years. In today’s age it’s easy to travel but difficult to move. Your journey began in Goa and on your amazing journey you lived in 4 different continents – that’s amazing and a testament to you. Each of us is grateful for your contribution to our family and will continue on our journey making our Nana and Papa proud. We are also comforted knowing that you had such a close and faithful relationship with God. Again thank you for being an outstanding role model. As Heaven welcomes you with open arms we only ask that you shine down your prayers and blessing upon us. Thank you is not enough but grateful we will always be. We love you. God Bless You. 🙏
