elevated kAXFO With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Connie DiMonte Meldazy, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 23, 2025 at the age of 91. Connie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
elevated kAXFO Born in Toronto on May 7th,1933, Connie was a kind, loving person who was always smiling and ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
She found joy in her cottage life, golf, euchre and time spent with family. Forever young at heart, children of all ages put a real smile on her face. She will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering love and generous spirit.
elevated kAXFO She was predeceased by her husband Victor Martin Meldazy, and son Monte Angelo Meldazy (Jillian Meldazy).
elevated kAXFO Connie is survived by her son, Martin Meldazy (Jo-Anne Meldazy) as well as her Grandchildren, Erikka Meldazy, (Daniel Gianasi), Krista Meldazy, Lucas Meldazy, Sebastian Meldazy (Stefania Meldazy), Maggie Meldazy and Kieren Meldazy and her Great Grandchildren, Gabriel Gianasi and Nico Gianasi.

It was with great sadness that we heard of Auntie Connie’s passing, she was always such a positive person. She lit up a room with her smile and fun loving attitude. Over the last few years I always enjoyed our phone conversations about life and golf. It was good to see her favorite golfer Rory win the Masters. Mrs. Meldazy will be greatly missed. She was a wonderful person and so kindhearted. Losing her was like losing a family member as I knew her since a baby as she lived directly across from us.
For me she was like an angel on earth. My heart is broken and my sincere condolences go to Marty & Family losing a wonderful mother and human being. May she R.I.P. and now rejoin the love of her Life Mr. Meldazy and Monte.
Dear Marty and family, we are heartbroken to hear of the passing of your wonderful mom. My memories of her always involved a beautiful smile and kind words. We are grateful for our faith that teaches us she is resting in paradise with our lord and with her loved ones who are waiting with open arms. I have the best memories of Nonna at the cottage during the summers. She always had a cold bottle of Grey goose ready in the freezer for us and her notes were placed all over the house with her signature bird. She was the best host and always made us laugh. Over the years, I always asked Erikka how she was doing and she would reply “living her best life”. What an incredible inspiration to all of us, you’ll be missed Nonna, thank you for creating so many amazing memories for Erikka’s friends…RIP.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences to the entire Meldazy family on Connie’s passing. My late parents were fortunate to have lived just a few houses down from the Meldazys on Goulding Avenue for many years, where they shared a warm and neighbourly bond. My younger siblings cherished the fun times spent playing with Marty and Monty. I have fond memories of babysitting Marty and Monty during my high school years when Vic and Connie would step out. The Goulding Avenue neighbourhood was a close-knit community, filled with friendly gatherings and lively parties—moments everyone will always hold dear. Connie was a truly kind and radiant soul, and her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace. ……Fred and Karen Pyziak
It is hard to believe our Auntie Connie has left us. She was so full of spirit and possessed a special joie de vivre! Connie was tenacious to return to her usual life after her recent hip surgery. Just 7 weeks ago, she was so proud that she was not using a walker or even a cane to walk, and began driving again! It was wonderful to spend a few hours together in her sunroom.
Our family is filled with so much sadness at her sudden departure. Our world will be a little dimmer without Connie’s special sparkle.
Connie will be missed by many. She was a very kind and generous person. After being raised in the Goulding Avenue neighbourhood, I had the chance to spend several years there with my own family. In my younger years and continuing the tradition with my own children, the Meldazy house was not to be missed on Halloween. Connie’s kindness and warmth was forever there and felt by everyone.
I have very fond memories of Aunt Connie. When I was a child Aunt Connie was always at the Christmas dinners at Grandma Meldazy’s house. She would give me a big hug. I loved her laughter. She was very friendly and kind.
Later in life we had some good conversations about her family moving to Canada from Italy; her deep faith in God; her activities in the Italian community; and the family golf tournaments and fun summers at the cottage. I really appreciated her sharing stories of her life.
I was very sad when my Mom and sister called to tell me Aunt Connie died. My thoughts and prayers go out to Marty and Joanne and the family. Just know your Mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother made a difference in many lives. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
We are so sad to hear of Connie’s passing. I first met Connie when I moved into the area in grade 4 and Monte and I became instant friends. The Meldazy house was always welcoming. Connie was always a great supporter of our business, especially at the start in 1984 and help promote us to her friends and family and for that we will always be grateful. She will be missed by all those that we lucky enough to know her. She was a true lady in every sense of the word.
May your great memories comfort you during this difficult time.

Marty & Joanne – heartfelt condolences on the passing of Connie. I have the best memories of our teenage years spending quality time at her home and at the cottage. Her vibrant, generous and loving personality was magnetic. She will be missed but I will never forget the fun memories and her loving heart.
Our Family was deeply saddened by the loss of our cousin Connie. She epitomized God’s Light. Connie’s smile touched everyone’s heart and her arms wrapped all within reach. We will truly miss you Connie. Dino and I send our prayers to Marty and all of Connie’s Family. We love and miss you.
Sal and I will miss Connie deeply. We had such wonderful times together. We traveled together (Italy, Hilton Head Island) and always had such good times. The Meldazy Bocce Tournament was always the highlight of our summer at the cottage. There were 19 of us and we kept up the tradition for over 25 years.
Connie I am going to miss our long phone conversations where we tried (and sometimes succeeded to solve the problems of the world).

Deepest condolences to the Family. Connie was sort of a god mother to me and a family member to the Sanelli clan. She was always there and shared in all of our milestones. She was so loved and will be greatly missed.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Connie’s passing. She was truly one of a kind; warm, down to earth, cheerful, and always so supportive. There are so many amazing memories to cherish of times and celebrations spent with Connie, Vic, and her family. Sonia & Donny, and of course Stella, had the best of times with Vic & Connie, especially at the annual Meldazy Bocce Tournament that went on for years and years at the cottage. I remember countless times when Stella (Chocha) would tell me that Connie came over to her place, always with treats and they would share a coffee. We know you are up there having a blast with all those who went before you and you are looking down on us here on earth and wishing us well as you always did. I was very saddened hearing about the passing of your dear mom Connie. I am very pleased we had a great visit with her before she passed. She made pizza for Nancy and I and we had lots of laughs. Dear Marty, Joanne and family. I”m sorry to hear that Auntie Connie has left us. May she rest in peace. She was someone who truly knew how to enjoy life and it was always wonderful to spend time with her. I will miss my Christmas and summer visits with her. She was a warm and generous person and leaves a big hole for those of us who were fortunate to have had her in our lives.

Dan and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Auntie Connie. She had the most positive outlook on things as anyone I have known. I will miss our telephone conversations where topics ranged from stories of her childhood growing up with all her siblings and cousins around, to current events and politics. We always had a good laugh. When in Toronto she always welcomed us in for a visit, coffee or lunch. We were lucky to have known such a vibrant person. She will not be forgotten. Connie was always a wonderful and sweet person. I will always cherish how she made me feel welcome at her home or cottage. In the 25 years that I knew her she always had a smile on her face and kind words to say to me. I have never met anyone who emanated such positivity and joy. Connie wanted to dance at Erikka’s wedding and she did. She wanted to dance at Sebastian’s wedding and she did. She was an amazing great-grandmother to my boys and I am truly grateful that I got to share with her the time that I did. Her legacy will be celebrated and cherished by her family. I always referred to her as my nonna even though I wasn’t blood. RIP Connie, we will always love you!
Dear Marty Pike and family. So sad to loose my lifelong friend. We shared so much of our lives to each other, I will always remember her with a sad heart. We really. Thought she would beat this. I hope she is up there looking down and seeing Maggi and her brother coming to visit her. Always you will be in my heart.
