Obituary
elevated 4HYGE Cosimo Fiorenza, 61, of Kitchener, Ontario, peacefully passed away on November 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a prolonged battle with Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). Born on February 26, 1964, to Antonio and Rosa (née Figliomeni) Fiorenza in Thunder Bay. Cosimo grew up in the small town of Schreiber, Ontario. He pursued a degree in Business at Lakehead University, followed by a law degree at the University of Ottawa.
After graduation, Cosimo built a distinguished career in tax law for over twenty-five years before choosing to leave private practice and run a Family Office in Kitchener. He was passionate about his work and truly loved each day he spent making “things happen.” Known for his remarkable ability to quickly assess situations, he had a gift for finding creative and successful solutions—even receiving an award acknowledging that he could “put a square peg in a round hole.” That spirit defined the way he lived, never accepting perceived limitations.
In 1993, Cosimo met Christina (née Sergi) on a blind date. They married on July 15, 1995, and welcomed two children, Anthony James and Rachel Rosa. Cosimo cherished his family deeply and was endlessly proud of their accomplishments, no matter where life took them.
Beyond his devotion to family and career, Cosimo had a lifelong passion for golf. He collected several memberships over the years but was especially honoured to join The Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in 2016. Golf brought him great joy, meaningful friendships, and adventures he treasured—rain or shine.
Cosimo was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Rosa Fiorenza, and his mother-in-law, Rachella Sergi (née Portolesi). He is survived by his wife and children; his siblings Dominic (Joanne), Caterina (Lou), and Domiano (Caterina); his father-in-law Antonio Sergi; his siblings-in-law Paola (Barry), Maria, Caterina, Antonio “Tony” (Manola), and Francesca (Robert); as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He touched countless lives and will be remembered with great love.
Viewing will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Funeral Home, 7300 Hwy 27, Woodbridge, on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 pm. Services will take place at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29, at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow for immediate family only; however, all guests are invited to attend the reception being held on site after the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society or The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

His smile and always gentle way is how I will remember him best.
