elevated oJr8G It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Cristina Niro (Chiarantano) of Cambridge, who passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2022 in her 99th year with her family by her side. Predeceased by the love of her life Pasquale Niro. She will be forever missed by her daughter Maddalena and son-in-law Peter Skowron. She was the adored Nonna to Christine and Mike DeLaFranier, Marty and Kirsten Skowron, and exceptional Great Nonna to Brandon, TJ, Jordan, Kaiya and Parker. Loved by her sisters Giovanna and Valentina and predeceased by her family; parents Alfonso and Maddalena, brother Michele and sisters Devota and Pierrina.
elevated oJr8G Cristina was born in San Massimo, Italy in 1924 and immigrated to Canada in 1952. Described as an angel with her positivity and happiness. She was truly selfless and hard working with an abundance of energy. The one with the biggest heart, the warmest hugs and the best laugh. She was generous and kind. Cristina will be remembered for her many passions. Her love of cooking, gardening, knitting and singing are just a few.

Our Great Aunt – Zia Cristina – we were so very lucky to have known and loved her. A remarkable human being. She was the most selfless woman and gave everything she had to anyone who knew her without a second thought. She was such a huge part of our lives growing up and I will forever remember her “secret pantry” full of goodies that she kept fully stocked just for our visits. She will be missed dearly, but will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in Peace Zia xoxo
