elevated XNgsl Obituary

elevated XNgsl It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Cristina Turchiaro on April 12, 2022, at the age of 42. Beloved daughter of Vincenzo & Giuseppina, sister to Gino (Ylenia), Frank, & Enzo, Aunt to Daniel, Alessandro, Sofia, and Nicholas. Niece to her many Aunts & Uncles and Cousin to many.

elevated XNgsl Cristina loved to listen to happy, upbeat music; the more the peppy and danceable the music was, the happier she would be. She adapted her own tonal sing-along method to her favorite songs and she absolutely could not stand any music that aroused the feeling of sorrow and sadness.

elevated XNgsl She loved being called Bella, Cri-Cri, Ki-ki, and Ti-ti by her brothers and cousins and loved hearing “Hi Zia” from her nephews and niece. Her favourite TV shows were always the game shows simply because she loved and felt the fun in them. Her favourites were Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.

elevated XNgsl She loved the company of family and would let us know in her own way if she did not feel that she was included. She loved to have attention and was always curious as to who was on the phone call at home.

elevated XNgsl As her speech was deprived since birth, verbal communication was always challenging and trivial; almost like playing charades but tougher. When she expressed her discomforts and basic wants it was a real guessing game; however, over time, communication and comprehension became intuitive and telepathic. This was truly a blessing to have overcome.

elevated XNgsl Cristina was born with cerebral palsy and endured many of the challenges and limitations associated with her condition. Since Cristina’s birth, her mother Giuseppina dedicated her entire life to being her constant companion, caregiver, pillar, and support in all her daily struggles. Giuseppina was always by her side making sure she always felt her love, care, and dedication. She made sure she would have it no other way. Cristina’s father Vincenzo and brother Frank who lived with her as well, dedicated their lives to being always there to help with her every need, providing much love, care, and support as well. Love and support were always provided by her brothers Gino and Enzo and their families, her Aunt Anna and her family, her Uncle Luigi and Aunt Albina and their family as well as many other family members and friends as they could. We know that Cristina felt very much loved and cared for.

elevated XNgsl The family would like to acknowledge and thank all Family and Friends, Social Workers, Personal Support Workers, Nurses, Doctors, The Ontario Disability Support Program, Motion Specialties, and all the organizations that helped the family. Donations can be made to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy.
