Cyril was born in 1942 in the port city of Visakhapatnam, to the late Franklin and late Daisy Cardoza, brother to the late David Cardoza. His infectious personality landed him in the booming city of Dubai in the 1970s. This is where he brought his beloved wife Mary after their marriage in 1975 and where they had their daughter Natasha. After moving to Canada in the early 2000s, Cyril subsequently became a father in law to Kurt, Grandfather to Shayne and Nathaniel and Grandpawpa to River.
He lived his life on his terms, making his own rules and enjoying every minute of it all. He was so present in every moment and treasured time spent with his family and friends most. His deep Catholic faith saw him through the best and worst days, and it was his unwavering love of the Lord that has left a lasting impression on us all. His guiding principal can best be described as the commandment from the Bible ” love one another as I have loved you”. He truly lived his faith, believed strongly in having gratitude, doing charitable work and helping anyone who asked for help. This is evident in the outpouring of blessings he received throughout his life.
Our family wishes to express our gratitude to our family doctor, Dr. Saldanha and the entire team of doctors and nurses at Credit Valley Hospital for the exemplary care that he received. We thank everyone for their support at this time, know that he treasures each of you and will continue to pray for you as he always did.

Cyril loved life and lived it to the full he fought a battle against his health concerns. Never forgot sending his wishes for birthdays. An extremely positive human being. Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed forever.

You leave a big hole in the lives of your lovely wife, Marie, your daughter, Natasha, your son in law, Kurt, your grand children and so many, many more! I will miss your “my darling Wency” greeting when you called! In fact the whole world was ‘your darlings’. You are so loved.

I was very sad to hear about Uncle Cyril’s passing. Warren and I both grew very fond of Uncle in the short time we got to know him. It is never easy to say Goodbye to someone we love and care about. Uncle was a special person and I am sure he will be deeply missed by all. Our deepest sympathy to you, Natasha, Kurt and his grandchildren.
Remember to take care of yourself during this difficult time, and lean on your loved ones for support. Uncle’s memory will live on in our hearts .

Dearest Marie and Natasha,I am really grief stricken at Cyril ‘s passing. He was so dynamic, full of life, always smiling and cheerful. Cyril was a cancer survivor and never allowed his other health issues to get him down. Marie you and Cyril were model parents and grandparents.He was a loyal friend especially to Kenny. I was fortunate and honored to be Uncle Cyril’s godchild and from a very young age, I remember his tender loving care, always interested in my life and offering guidance, steer and support, to make the best choices for my life.
My family are forever grateful and indebted to him for paving the way to setup their lives in Dubai in the 1970s.
He was a true gentleman and a man of impeccable taste, and lived his life to the fullest, whilst caring deeply for those he loved. Uncle Cyril was a passionate, kind, loving and caring human being and touched our lives despite the miles between us. Those we love, never leave us and I will eternally treasure the fond memories I shared with him. May his precious soul rest with the angels in heaven. Gone but not forgotten and his legacy will live on with us forever.
