elevated YL1Yp With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Thao Galletti, at the age of 43. Beloved wife of 14 years to Gianpaolo. Caring and devoted mother to James, Paul, and Jack. Cherished daughter to Agatha and Quang, and sister to Vu (Josée) and Thien. Adored daughter-in-law to Rosemary and Paolo, and sister-in-law to Tonia (Anthony). Thao will be lovingly remembered by her niece Claire, her nephews Jacob, Luke, and Eric, and many family members, friends, and co-workers. She was authentic, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. Truly a beautiful person, inside and out. Thao passed away July 30, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.
elevated YL1Yp Her parents left everything behind in Vietnam and settled in Thunder Bay, when she was just a baby. A difficult and isolated journey, to make a better life for the family. She went on to study in Toronto, and leveraged her intelligence, and her passion to help people in the pharmaceutical industry. As an entry level microbiologist on the night shift, she met her husband and friend, Gianpaolo. She was a devoted mother, and the foundation of her family. Random surprises or baked goods for people within her circle kept her busy and brought her so much joy. When it came to children, birthdays, and special occasions, they were always next level. Annual Halloween parties with candy apples and decorations everywhere. Gingerbread decorating with special aprons and extra icing for an ever expanding group of kids. Words can’t describe the attention to detail and personalization, and the happiness at these events.Â
elevated YL1Yp Anyone who knew Thao was touched by her kindness and felt a special connection. Our grief over losing Thao is infinite, and she will always remain in our hearts. She’d be happy knowing that her boys are supported, that they continue becoming fine gentlemen, and that they fulfill their heart’s desires.Â

We are so sadden to hear of Thao’s passing. She has always been a wonderful neighbour and friend. She was my first friend moving to Aurora and always made me feel welcome. We became fast friends. I enjoyed our driveway conversations while our kids told us to hurry up. Catching up on what was progressing in our lives and what interests our kids were into. We are going to miss her beautiful smiling face waving at us. She was truly a kind beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all of us.

Thao was a beautiful and loving person. I was truly blessed to have known her and had her friendship. No matter how much time we spent apart, when saw each other it was like it had been no time at all. We would simply pick up where we left off, as if it had only been a few days. When she spoke about Gianpaolo, James, Paul and Jack her face would light up and her eyes would sparkle. She loved her husband and her boys with every fibre of her being.
I was so fortunate to have known her and I will cherish her memory.

She was my close friend in my last year of high school in the late 90s. We also worked together at a video store. That time was rough for me. I didn’t have many people who I trusted, or felt really liked me. She was one person that made me feel like I was important. Just unbelievably kind. And fun, always happy. I always felt completely unworthy of her friendship. I completely lost touch with her after high school, which I always regretted. Just recently I went on a frantic search to find her, and stumbled upon this. I wanted to talk to her, to catch up, to introduce her to my family. To tell her how important she was to me during that time. I am beyond devastated. To her husband and children, how lucky you were to have such a beautiful human being as a wife and mother. I’m very sorry for your loss. I have always missed her, and I’ll continue to remember her with nothing but love.
Sending my deepest condolences to the Pham Tran and Galletti families. Thao and I met at St Mary’s School in Brockville and became friends. Recently I looked Thao up as I wanted to connect again as our boys are similar in age and I was thinking of her birthday. We lost touch with each other after we both started our families, Thao being in Toronto and I am in Arizona. I am saddened to read of her passing. I am grateful for the beautiful memories that I got to share with Thao. Rest in peace my beautiful friend.

Thao was unreal when it came to caring for others. It’s heartwarming to read these memories, highlighting her kindness, her unique ways, and her odd sense of humour (her laugh with her nose slightly scrunched still brings a big smile to my face…miss it).
Thanks to the friends who recently added to the chain. Hidden gems that were greatly appreciated. I’m sorry you had to find out so abruptly.
