It is with the greatest of sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Damian N. Pastorfide Jr at the age of 89 years. While we are heartbroken, we are grateful that he lived a full life and in his own words “he was satisfied”.
elevated kDwZ3 He was born in Cagayan De Oro, Philippines to the late father Damian Pastorfide Sr and late mother Anacoreta Neri Pastorfide on December 2, 1936. He was the eldest brother to his three other siblings being his late sister Ligaya, late brother Rodolfo and sister Susan.
elevated kDwZ3 He is survived by his wife Adelia, his children: Damian III, Ana, Agnes and Aida, his grandchildren: Antoinette, Victoria and Anthony, his great grandchildren: Malainna, Dominic, Charlize and Rosa
elevated kDwZ3 He was a child survivor of WII Philippines under Japanese occupation.
elevated kDwZ3 After he married, he moved to Toronto, Canada in the late 60s to settle in before his wife and 3 children (one was born abroad) came over to live a new life in the west.
elevated kDwZ3 He had worked at various electrical engineer related positions, notably at the University of Toronto as a professor aide, Mr. Christie’s, Honest Ed’s (duties included that all bulbs were lit on their infamous sign) and Sears.
elevated kDwZ3 He was a devout Catholic and his interests included traveling, on going learning and technology. He also enjoyed watching boxing, basketball and baseball.
elevated kDwZ3 Over the decades he shared smiles and stories everywhere he went, spreading positivity while unknowingly touching the lives of family, friends and acquaintances alike. He will be terribly missed by all.

Hello my cousins and bigger family. We (Marco, Mercy, Aris, Py and my dad) here in the Philippines are saddened by Uncle Jun’s passing but happy that he can rest in peace now. My original family (dad, mom, Ezzard, Maya and I of course) have memories with him and your family going back since we were very little and we will remember him fondly. It’s sad that my two kids, Aris and Py, didn’t have a chance to meet him again as they grow but I will tell them stories of Toronto life and hanging out with our cousins there when they are ready. We will see you again in the future when we come visit and hope all is well till then!
Dear Pastorfide family.
My deepest condolences on the passing of Mr Pastorfide. Our ties are deep as our families lived one block away from each other for many years and we attended school together. Your father regularly dropped my parents nearby place business on Queen Street, had long chats with my father and even did some electrical work on our properties. As a young man in my chance meetings with Mr. Pastorfide, he always took an interest in my education and career and always encouraged me. My family shares your grief and feels your loss. He and my father are now in good company.
