elevated Gxtip It is with utter devastation and heartbreak that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved 27 year old son, Daniel Christian Denis Mettel. He was born on Feb. 12, 1998 in North York but grew up in Aurora.
elevated Gxtip Daniel was a beloved son to Teresa and Christian, loving brother to Nicole (Andrew), Kaitlin (Dillon), and Andrew, devoted grandson to his Oma and Papa, Bruno and Kathe Mettel, and Doreen and Denis Herlihy (pre-deceased), adored nephew to his Tante Michele Schappler (Martin) and his Aunt Christine Herlihy.
elevated Gxtip Daniel was a cherished Godson/cousin to Darin Tomlin (Jess) and like another brother to Dexter (Maria), Theo and Noah Tomlin and a special cousin to Nicholas Mettel.
elevated Gxtip Our dearest, loving boy – you are gone but never forgotten for we will always carry you in our hearts. May you finally be at peace.
elevated Gxtip Visitation will be from 2-6pm, Sunday, July 27th at Holy Cross Funeral Home.
elevated Gxtip Funeral will be at Noon on Monday, July 28th also at Holy Cross Funeral Home.

elevated Gxtip Everyone is welcome to wear something of purple as a tribute to Daniel’s favourite colour/birthstone.

I remember the moments and laughs we shared in class together during high school and spontaneously running into each other around town. No matter how much time went between us seeing each other he would great me with the biggest smile. Rest is peace Daniel. To his family – I am deeply sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with Chris, Teresa and the entire family. We will always remember Daniel as loving, caring young man whose smile would light up a room.
Oh, my dear friends, for many years, Chris & Theresa. To your dear children & extended family. Words cannot express my immense disbelief & my grief.

My good friend. How much silence and emptiness you leave in so many of us. Sometimes I don’t understand the why of things, but I know something, and that is that your friendship was very valuable. It didn’t take me years, just months, to get to know that great human being, who was always characterized by a beautiful and lovely smile. That was you, Daniel. I’m going to miss that warm hug we gave each other every day at work and the good mornings you said to me in Spanish, so you learned very well and quickly. Thank you for your friendship. Just rest my good friend. See you someday. May God bless you always. I accompany your entire family in their pain from afar. I’m so sorry 🥺

Daniel, you always put a smile on my face and made my days at work with you so much fun. You were truly loved but anyone who met you, we will all miss you. You will be forever in our hearts.
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Daniel’s passing. The great time and good laughs we shared during my visit to Canada left a lasting impression on me. I will always remember him as someone so full of life. My thoughts are with you all during this incredibly difficult time.
