elevated T2leV It is with utter devastation and heartbreak that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved 27 year old son, Daniel Christian Denis Mettel. He was born on Feb. 12, 1998 in North York but grew up in Aurora.
elevated T2leV Daniel was a beloved son to Teresa and Christian, loving brother to Nicole (Andrew), Kaitlin (Dillon), and Andrew, devoted grandson to his Oma and Papa, Bruno and Kathe Mettel, and Doreen and Denis Herlihy (pre-deceased), adored nephew to his Tante Michele Schappler (Martin) and his Aunt Christine Herlihy.
elevated T2leV Daniel was a cherished Godson/cousin to Darin Tomlin (Jess) and like another brother to Dexter (Maria), Theo and Noah Tomlin and a special cousin to Nicholas Mettel.
elevated T2leV Our dearest, loving boy – you are gone but never forgotten for we will always carry you in our hearts. May you finally be at peace.
elevated T2leV Visitation will be from 2-6pm, Sunday, July 27th at Holy Cross Funeral Home.
elevated T2leV Funeral will be at Noon on Monday, July 28th also at Holy Cross Funeral Home.

elevated T2leV Everyone is welcome to wear something of purple as a tribute to Daniel’s favourite colour/birthstone.

I remember the moments and laughs we shared in class together during high school and spontaneously running into each other around town. No matter how much time went between us seeing each other he would great me with the biggest smile. Rest is peace Daniel. To his family – I am deeply sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss.
I pray that your beloved son will rest in peace in the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the Holy Spirit come down to heal you and your entire family.

My good friend. How much silence and emptiness you leave in so many of us. Sometimes I don’t understand the why of things, but I know something, and that is that your friendship was very valuable. It didn’t take me years, just months, to get to know that great human being, who was always characterized by a beautiful and lovely smile. That was you, Daniel. I’m going to miss that warm hug we gave each other every day at work and the good mornings you said to me in Spanish, so you learned very well and quickly. Thank you for your friendship. You were someone who got along well with everyone, Including me, use to tell jokes, saw your progress at queen city and hive café. Before you went on leave, we got into a minor disagreement and forgave each other, we even went out to celebrate a coworker’s birthday party and had a great time. I wish I could attend but I had an incident with my uncle who suffered a mild stroke, a couple of days ago before I got the news about you😧 so I have to help him out with his things at his place. I hope your family, friends and relatives will celebrate your life as you’ll begin your journey to the afterlife and be there for the living in spirit. May you rest in peace, and I’ll honor your wish as I’ll be donating to the Toronto humane society. ❤️

Daniel, you are and you are always going to be one of the sweetest, most caring, sensible person I ever met. You brought your beautiful energy to every room. Live was multicolor with you in it.
I will never forget our chats about music, hobbies and family in the Google cafeteria. I was in utter shock at the news and I can only imagine the pain this has caused to your beautiful family. You will always, always live in my heart and the heart of the many people who loved you so dearly.

Daniel was truly a ray of light. He made every shift at Superstore something to look forward to, and his energy and silliness could brighten even the toughest day. He had this amazing ability to lift people up and make them feel seen, heard, and loved.
I’ll forever cherish our spontaneous adventures and jokes. My heart is with his family during this incredibly difficult time. Wishing them strength and comfort as they grieve the loss of someone so special.💜
